Dairy Queen Store — Restaurant in Hillsboro

This Dairy Queen is a walk up / drive thru with some outside seating. This location is next door to a livestock auction facility. I've been coming here for better than 27 years, not that it's always been a D Q but it has been some sort of dairy bar type of place. Well as long as I can remember. I can't recall ever being dissatisfied with them, their usually pretty quick with friendly service. This is one of those places that takes you back to your child hood, I have fond memories of my Grandfather taking me to the stock sale and we would most always stop here. Neither the food nor the ice cream is very good quality. Also, when they had their seasonal pumpkin pie Blizzards, I specifically asked if they had nutmeg in them because I have an allergy. I was told nutmeg was only in the topping, so I asked if they could leave that off or substitute cinnamon. The worker assured me she made sure there was no nutmeg in it, yet a few bites in, and I had an allergic reaction because there was indeed nutmeg on it, not cinnamon! Thankfully my reaction was not severe, since I hadn't eaten very much of it, but it was a waste of money and I was sick the rest of the night. Just got served three foot longs on molded bread. Manager looked into my eyes and said it comes with “burn marks on it from Nickles bread company”. Instantly threw up the coney. I’ll be calling the health dept and bread company. I’m sure they’ll appreciate that DQ is serving moldy buns and saying it’s from them. Didn’t know bread was made on a grill? Manager needs a food course and an attitude adjustment. She didn’t want to show me the pack of the buns. I said ok, let’s say they came like that, let’s see them. I’d give zero stars.
