Sakura Sushi — Restaurant in Hillsborough Township

My review is based on take out only. I was in the mood for Japanese food and wanted to try Sakura Sushi on Triangle Rd, so I placed my order over the phone and it was ready when promised in 20 minutes. Sakura Sushi has a large menu, including a kids menu. There is something for everyone. I ordered their Sushi Dinner- 10 pieces of various sushi, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. It came with Miso Soup, and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. I also ordered their Valentine Roll-Spicy Tuna, Crunch, Avocado inside,Spicy Tuna Outside. Everything I ordered was delicious. The Miso soup had seaweed and tofu in it. It was warm and comforting. The Green Salad was fresh and crisp not watery like some other places, and oh that Ginger Dressing made the salad. Then on to my sushi. It was beautifully displayed and had fresh wasabi and pickled ginger and a separate container of soy sauce for dipping. Every piece was fresh, including my Valentine Roll. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend ordered Steamed Pork Gyoza for an appetizer. They were good. For his entree he chose their Beef Teriyaki Dinner. Beef Teriyaki pieces with fresh Vegetables and Fried Rice. His dinner also came with Miso Soup, and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. He enjoyed his meal but wished the beef was more pink and medium rare. . They do have seating if you choose to eat in. The dining room looked nice. When placing my order, The staff was very friendly over the phone.

I would definitely order Sushi...

My family has been going to Sakura Sushi since we moved to Hillsborough in 2008, and it has been our go-to sushi destination every single time. The quality is unbeatable, the staff is lovely, and the total dining experience is perfect. A top-notch sushi restaurant for a affordable sushi price. Of course, much of the dining experience is lost with the current COVID-19 epidemic. But when my family craved sushi, we knew just who to call for take out, and they did not disappoint. The fish is as fresh as ever and they are taking all types of heath precautions to make sure the product they deliver is the finest and completely safe. I did not have an ounce of worry and it was exactly what I needed to bring the luxury of eating sushi out to my home. I will be returning to Sakura until I die, and even after then, I'll instruct my all of my future generations to do the same...and I'm in my mid-20s now so keep it...

Service was very slow on a Saturday night with only few tables of people (quite surprise that there were so many empty tables on the weekend).Still, we waited long for the waiter to get our order and serve the food. There was only one waiter.

Food - sushi and sashimi were okay. Nabe yaki udon was not good. It has two pieces of shrimp tempura in it and both were already soft when the bowl arrived and all the tempura flakes (outer shell) fell apart as soon as I picked it up. All I left was the shrimp inside. There are also small pieces of boiled chicken inside and some small pieces of vegetables. We asked for hot tea. The tea was pretty diluted and no one came to refill.
