Super disappointment. I accompanied a friend who likes this place. Now have lived in the New York City metro area and attended college and lived in Washington DC where there are amazing Greek and Mediterranean restaurants so I knew what I was ordering. I have also expertly created spanakopita and baklava myself. So, I ordered the spanakopita and baklava for dessert. The spanakopita had a weird stale taste. I ordered 2 of them, opened one up to look inside, there was a raw dough like substance, I did not see any feta cheese. The other had a small blob of what appeared to be cheese in it. The phyllo dough was not firm on the outside. If I was not so hungry I would have thrown it in the trash. The baklava was awful! Awful, awful, awful! The phyllo dough was not crisp it was soft and the inside was not tasty at all. I was expecting a honey-like inside with walnuts or pistachio. I requested that they warm it, thinking that it would in an oven that may take the chill off of the inside and crisp up the outside and the guy put it in the microwave. I did not eat it and left it on the table. YUK! This place is now on my "Do Not Eat List"!

Food is great, restaraunt is clean, a little pricy. 16inch philly cheese steak fries and refillable drink for $19. Guy even let me charge my phone. Only weird thing I asked for some napkinS and he gave me 1? I held it up, and said one? They said something in Greek to the other guy and laughed. Felt weird. But I can't let a napkin or an interpretation affect the fact that the food was very good. He seem to know everyone else that came in, very friendly.

Checked American Hero for the first time and it was great. Their reviews on Google were great so I can to give them a try. Inside the restaurant was clean. The staff was nice and helpful. Their menu on the board did not list lamb as an option. They have lamb if you ask for it.

Last year I brought my father and nephew here. I had eaten here before and was fairly satisfied, but this day was a literal disaster. There were no complaints with my or my nephew's food. My father ordered chicken wings, a sub, and a fish plate. The sub was fine; however, the wings were bland and without the regular batter and my father's fish was broken and undone. We had an appointment to go to and I couldn't bring it back right then, but I did call and tried very nicely to mention the problem. While I was talking with the manager, the call dropped. I called back three times, but could not get any one back on the phone, but I did leave a voicemail message. I even left my phone number for them to call me back, but to no avail. I guess I wasn't important enough and/or they thought they wouldn't hear from me again because I was calling from a (404) number.

I did go back there some time later and spoke with the manager directly. He distinctly remembered me and recalled hanging up the phone on me. In truth, he was beyond nasty and disrespectful. He never apologized or even offered to rectify the situation at all

I was rather angry at the thought that he not only disregarded me, but that he didn't care when I spoke of my father.

I did like this place, but now I am so done with them because of their blatant disrespect and ill-gotten treatment.

In closing, I spoke with the Better Business Bureau and they asked me if I wanted to seek rrestitution or just file a complaint. I was so disgusted that I said I would just file a report because I don't trust that they would finally do right and I surely don't want them to fix any more food for us. It became more of a priority to lme to et everyone know...

I'll give them 2 stars because of the service tonight. Ive always been a fan of American Hero and have been a customer for atleast 8 years. The food has always been good and the service was always fine; nothing bad, nothing exceptional. I sometimes call in a order when I leave work after a 12.5 hour workday. Tonight I had an errand to run and called around 7 to place an order over the phone. I was 10 minutes away, and had to drive by it on the way home. I called in and was greeted by an automated message saying place an order online and I could speak to staff by pressing 3. I pressed 3 and one of the guys answered. I explained I was driving and couldn't place an online order and asked if I could place it on the phone and was 10 mins away. They guy said no and I needed to place it online or come in and place it. Really? You can answer the phone but not take my order? Drive up to the restaurant to place the order. Walk in and there is ONE couple eating inside. The staff is standing around? I tell one of the guys its kinda hard to place an online order while driving...and I get a sarcastic "staff shortage" remark. You literally have the same people working in here as you did 2 years ago? I get times are changing, and I guess the desire to make money is as well. I usually visit atleast once a month. I won't be back...
