This restaurant was an extreme let down. We came here for my engagement dinner and I haven't had as bad of a food experience in maybe my entire life. We ordered their hush puppies, they were spongy and seemed like they were old and just reheated. I had a lobster bisque, which actually has a little bit of lobster in it! They just forgot to season it. My fiancee had a gumbo that was more like a gravy. For dinner I had seared scallops that were under seared with overcooked Parmesan herb crusted risotto. By the time I got to this point in my meal I was fed up, but I'm a good mood still because I just got engaged! They ended up giving us a dessert to share because of our engagement which is awesome! I'm finally going to get at least one decent bite of something. Wrong! The mousse they gave us was spoiled! I took a huge bite and my mouth started burning from the spoiled diary. I almost puked at the table. My mouth was burning for like 10 minutes afterwards. I've eaten spoiled diary in the past never have I eaten more spoiled diary than this. I've never had a meal where everything I ate was bland or terrible. You would think at a place as expensive as this place they'd know what seasoning is. The crab legs were good though! Although I have no idea how you could mess that up as long as you boil it for long enough. I truly don't know how the reviews are as high here after our meal. This place seemed no better than the tourist traps on the island and it was probably worse. We didn't complain at all while we were there, because we didn't want to deal with the hassle. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a special occasion. Hell I wouldn't recommend coming here at all if they can't cook something that's $20+ with even a little bit of seasoning. I left this place with not a full stomach, but a curdling one and I'm lucky I didn't end up getting sick...
Read moreHuge disappointment after a great visit 2 years ago. Chaos at the host stand, ignored despite arriving first. Then seated far from the water even though we requested it and patiently waited. Only saving grace was our kind waiter and the decent lobster bisque. What a letdown!
After a great meal two years ago, this visit was a disaster. I put my families name on the wait list and parked, I received a text that our table was ready. I patiently waited at the top of podium while several hostess were organizing menus and buzzing around. A woman jumped in front of my mom from the bar and announced she received a text message her table was ready then a lady ran up from behind and made the same announcement regarding her party. The hostesses began to seat the two parties that jumped in front then, my husband frustrated explain we had arrived with text in hand first. The eldest hostess then ushered us all in and said under her breath to me they weren’t going to run out of food. Unnecessary.
We requested and waited for waterfront and were seated farthest from the water, while there was a visible open table Waterside the entire duration of our meal. Fortunately the waiter was kind and patient with my elderly mother and her dietary restrictions. My tuna tartar was not fresh, it was oxidized with dark flesh, and covered in soy sauce with none of the other flavors present that were outlined on the menu and left a lot to be desired. My lobster bisque was perfect and my family enjoyed...
Read moreMy wife and I had a delightful and delish lunch at Fish Camp. I had the basket with fried flounder, oysters, shrimp, coleslaw, and fries. Everything was light, fresh, and well cooked. The only exception were the fries that were kind of dry. My wife had the the friend green tomatoes with shrimp and polenta. It was also delicious. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The only complaint with that dish is that I wish there was more than 1 slice of fried green tomato. We both agreed that we will be coming back. I definitely recommend you give it a try.
Update: My daughter was visiting and my wife decided to take her to Fish Camp. I was out running errands but managed to stop by shortly before their food arrived. Once again, the food was delicious. The calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly in a light batter with no chewiness and plenty of taste. The lobster bisque was extraordinarily creamy and the splash of sherry added flare to a perfect taste. I am not an oyster or mussel person, but I did try one and did not want to spit it out. I did discover I am still not an oyster and mussel loving person. My daughter happily slurped the rest down and assured me that they were great. Special shout-out to the blue raspberry lemonade. It was very refreshing on a warm sunny day. Also as expected, the service was outstanding. I couldn't have been happier about Caroline who seemed to genuinely care, was friendly, approachable, happy, and efficiently catered...
