Moondog Tavern — Restaurant in Hinesburg

Had a fantastic evening with friends at the Moondog Tavern. We had never been, but heard that it had a new name, new owners and was worth checking out. What a great find!

Tuesdays are trivia nights so we gathered some friends for dinner and trivia. The menu is impressive with a nice selection of apps, salads and burgers / sandwiches. I got the smash burger w sweet potato fries, hubby got a Reuben. Both were delicious! Chicken wings were big and beefy and the blue cheese dressing tasted homemade. Nice selection of beer and a full bar. Trivia was very well run and our whole group (10 of us) had a great time.

Recently open, place was full last night! We had a group of 6, they were able to set up seating for us quickly. Server was new, only her second day, and she did a great job! Food took a bit, since every chair was taken that was to be expected, but it was worth evey second of the wait! We cleaned our plates!!!! Best fries I ever had! Took the fam to give Moondog Tavern a try, after the change in ownership. We had a seriously outstanding time all around. Outstanding service start to finish. I highly recommend cheesesteak fries (with beer cheese!) My wife is from Quebec, said it's the best poutine she's had in vermont.
