Victoria's Sub Shop — Restaurant in Hingham

We are new to Hull, MA. 2nd day in and was trying to spend our money locally. I truly wanted to like my sandwich tonight, but I felt cheated, and we overpaid for a mediocre sandwich. I did walk in at 6:40 pm to order 2 subs. I understand they were closing at 7 pm. I tried to keep things simple and easy. What I (and my wife) received were sandwiches that had hardly any meat on them (we ordered 2 large roast beefs), and we felt that the bread was on the older side of things. Very, very, very, thin slices of roast beef and hardly on the overpaid sandwhich. I understand that things cost more now a days but, that's no excuse for the lackluster roast beef that was served this evening. I am going to venture to guess that the roast beef was purposely cut on the thinner side (paper thin side). The owner was probably trying to save money and stretch that product further, but I paid a boat load of money for a sandwich that I could have gotten cheaper and at Jersey Mike's. I may try this place one more time. But,...

Top notch food ,.......BUT back in 1977 to 79 across the road next to grattas liquor store was a place called Danny's sub shop. My 2 friends would die for Vicki's steak n cheese sub. Less than 10 minutes there in the car making all these wordless moans n groans eating those Vicky's subs. I would drive to Danny's, danny who was the true old school tough but gentleman piasan on crutches.he would tell ya its gonna take 30 minutes. I'd say , its worth every minute . I'll take it, he cooked it in an old cast iron pan with a lid on it. We would have the greatest conversation for 25 minutes then he would lift the lid put the cheese on it. 5 minutes it was done. It had its own gravy with the provolone all melted on a real North end chewy style spucky. My friends hated that it was beyond unbeatable with juices flowing all over your face. I Love Victoria’s Subs. I have to go up to Massachusetts on Tuesday 12/14/21 to help with family issues😜, but the only thing I want to do is take tha Lahb-ster Express from Logan Airport to Quincy Haaahr-bor then shoot down 3A towards Hull. The tortellini salad is great, the meatballs will definitely hang lower in your bag than your used to😏, the CheeseSteak is worth the diet your wife will put you back on, but my favorite is a whole Seafood Salad hoagie with extra Seafood, American Cheese and Mayo! Nothing says fishing for strippers off HULL GUT at low tide like the Seafood Salad Sandwiches, and nothing reminds me of my love for the Bo’ Sox like explaining why I’ve got four sandwiches from Victoria’s in my carry-on going back to Florida.
