George's Gyros Spot 2 — Restaurant in Hobart Township

First time eating here and there are three things that I felt were exceptional.

First - the staff. They were patient, helpful and extremely polite. "You never get a second chance to make a first impression." This must be incorporated into their training.

Second - the French fries. I don't know what they season them with, but they were delightful to eat! They weren't greasy; they were actually crispy and had an amazing flavor! Not just crunchy - CRISPY!

And last, but not least the third thing that impressed me there - the lemon rice soup. I enjoy lemon rice soup. I don't think I have ever had a bad serving of lemon rice soup. At worst I've had maybe three bowls in my lifetime that were unremarkable. Their lemon rice soup was the exact opposite of that. I was unable to put my finger on what it was that made it stand out, but it was AMAZING! Was it fresh lemon? Was it the base? Was it zested lemon peel? I don't really know, and furthermore, I don't really care (except I kind of do). You could tell me the secret ingredient is a decomposing hobo and all I would say is "Can I get a couple gallons to go, please?" (definitely not a decomposing hobo...I hope).

All the food that I ordered was excellent, but these three things were worthy of mention. I am looking forward to returning and trying more...

We went there to dine this evening. It was not busy when we got there. Only one other customer was eating at the time. I ordered a cheese burger with everything and my husband order the double bacon burger and fries. So when we set down to eat I looked at the receipt and I ask my husband where was his bacon at? He told me that he would like to know that as well. I told him to take his burger up to them with the receipt and ask them. He did not want to make a fuss. So I finally got him to take it up to them. The cook told him that he put bacon on it. My husband told him that he did not. My husband had to tear his burger apart to show him their was no bacon on the burger. Even the cashier was shaking her head and saying their is no bacon on the burger. The cook did nothing about their was no bacon on the burger. So when you go there and the older cook with the glasses make your food make sure you get what you ordered before you walk away from the counter. He will not correct it and he will stand and argue with you about it. That is stealing from the customer and you will have to eat what...

Was surprised that the gyros do not come with feta and is an added cost. However, my issue is that our gyro plates that were ordered and were supposed to come with a (small) fry, did not come with any. When we called to inquire (and were they were smalls) we were told they do not refund, they mark somewhere that they owe us 2 sm fries. Now, the gas alone makes it not worth the trip, but since we now no longer plan to order from here, we were given no choice but to drive back to get them. Fyi...you may want to look into refunds for people who don't want to wait to eat until their food is cold because you forgot items in their order. Once picked up from the annoyed worker who let us know they upgraded them to a large we get home to notice there is also a small mozzarella stick. This would all be great if the rest of the food didn't get cold in...
