I first ate at Naaman’s in Texarkana, Texas a few years back. It was good then but the thing they have going on in Hochatown is next level. The atmosphere and decor at the Hochatown location matches so many of the cabin here…light wood plank walls, rustic seating and beautiful views. They also have a great artificial turf area outside for kids of all ages to run around and burn some energy. But I digress. The reason you come to Naaman’s is the BBQ. And it is some kind of good.
I had robs and house made sausage. The ribs were thick but fall off the bone soft. They had a beautiful sweet and black pepper bark that was outstanding. No need for any sauce, like great ribs should be in my opinion. The sausage is meaty and spices just right, and it is great in Naaman’s original 42 sauce (regular BBQ sauce). It also tastes great with their mustard based sauce.
Naaman’s offers many traditional sides like Cole slaw, potato salad, etc. I enjoyed both. The potato salad is very similar to my father-in-law’s receipt, which made me long a little bit for home.
Sometime in Hochatown you just need a real from the hustle and bustle of the old namesakes like Grateful Head, Abendigo’s and the Saloon. If you feel that way, shoot by Naaman’s and get you some outstanding BBQ from a great group of folks. I do t think you will be...

Fast casual - counter order, you get drinks, and they deliver food.
Good: The brisket sandwich was delicious. The meat was moist but not overly oily like some of the BBQ places back home. There are two bottles of BBQ sauce. One is sweeter and the other is barely spicy. I actually liked combining three two sauces on my sandwich. Get the banana pudding for yourself. There was a bottom crushed crust that was a little crispy; it didn’t seem like it was a vanilla wafer crust. We chose to sit outside on the bar stools to enjoy the view.
For Improvement: Pulled pork was slightly dry and just not as tasty as the brisket. The raw onions and peppers container was set at the drink station and very small. Suggest putting it somewhere else with more space where people can place their trays to get the fixings, or (what might be better) providing little plates/bowls so that as people get their drinks, they can get the fixings at the same time. If you rely on people to use the tray their food is on, that means that people have to wait for their food to be delivered, then they have to get up to get the fixings and busy times will have lots of people bumping into each other.

Read moreWas visiting Beavers Bend with some family and they wanted to eat here. Let me start with the portions. They are small. Very small. 1 scoop of potatoe salad, 1 scoop of Cole slaw, 3 small slices of Brisket and 2 small cuts of sausage. Now, if this was marketed as a kids meal these portions would be ok but this was what the Naamans staff considered a grown up meal. Now for the taste. The potatoe salad was bland and hardly had any flavor. The cole slaw was tasteless and bland as well. The brisket was over cooked and dry. The sausage had a little more flavor but still not savory like sausage should be. The barbecue sauce helped with the dryness of the meat though. What made these portions and the quality of the food unacceptable was the price of 2 meals (my spouse ordered a brisket sandwich and a drink) our overall price was $42.00. The high price not representative of the quantity and quality of the food we received. The staff was for the most part friendly and helpful. If I'm ever back in the area we will not...
