This one is tough to rate. I have read the other reviews. I can totally agree on how awesome the staff is. The smiles, non manufactured tone and attention to conversation while still working, the overall interior of the place is fantastic. I would even tip my hat to the other customers who respond to a general greeting. But the one thing that place a bad mark for me is the pricing!! I have visited twice. First time, drip coffee and a muffin came to $8+. I thought to myself "ummm well okay... I guess it is the tourist tax or some fancy coffee roast" The roast was basic and the flavor was down right watered down. I equate it to when 7-Eleven switched from glass to plastic on their brew pots. I swallowed the disappointing cup of coffee served in a paper cup. The muffin was okay, but not at the price either. Circle K comparable muffin is much better tasting and at a fair price point. I decided maybe go back a second time. I did. The coffee was just as disappointing. I was not going to pony out for another muffin. The employees and customers were still fantastic. The product and pricing are outrageous. For laughs, I Googled Starbucks and Timmy Ho coffee at similar size. At least, I know what I am getting and the price makes sense from those brands. The drip coffee makes me not want to give anything else a try when considering the dollar and quality. I see in other reviews the company has responded they would make you a better cup upon request, but really- why not just make a better cup to start. I should not have to be backed into a corner on quality and price by having to request some fancy wi-fi bluetooth laser disk method i.e. French Press or Pour-over. I have debated on a third try, but I cannot justify the coin. Photo receipt of...
Read moreA little bummed about the toast I just picked up. I normally order from the Etown location, but thought I would try Hodgenville today instead. The food choices are the same so I assumed they would be made the same. My benedictine toast has very different microgreens, no cucumber, and three little slivers of onion. This is disappointing because it's 4.50 for toast at this location. They also had very few bakery options. I'll just stick with the Etown location for now.
Edit! They were simply out of the cucumber, I was worried they just weren't doing things the same. Thank you for your...
Read moreI moved outside of Hodgenville from a place with a thriving coffee scene (lots of different shops that did manual brews, small eats, and seriously fine tuned espresso) and I've managed a little cafe myself. I haven't met a single employee at this location that can't have a nice conversation about their beans/food and pull a killer shot of espresso to boot. Hodgenville is so lucky to have this high quality of coffee in their town. They beat out every coffee shop I've been to in KY so far and are my go-to anytime I'm going to...
