Gourmet House — Restaurant in Holdrege

I'm sorry to write this review but I only do so to warn future travelers to avoid this restaurant. Despite being classified as a top rated restaurant for Holdrege, I do not believe it is deserving of its rating. If you enjoy quality Chinese food that doesn't come out of a can or a box this isn't the place for you. The staff is incredibly nice and the place is clean, but the food is just such a let down. We ordered food we unfortunately didn't like.. At all.. We didnt touch the plate and kindy asked if the one plate could be taken off of the order. We would've accepted a kind no, but the chef/owner came out of the kitchen as we were talking to our waitress about the food and proceeded to YELL at us and embarrass us in front of the whole restraunt saying "whos gonna eat the food, no refund, you cant do that" while throwing his hands up and causing a huge seen. Probably the best damn Chinese food I have ever had. I have had the garlic chicken, which rocked. The lemon shrimp was amazing. Hot tea was good, and the fried rice was pretty good too. The lemon chicken can be added to my review as a dish to try. I would also caution anyone from to big a bite of the horseradish mustard.
