We have been here multiple times, the food here is decent, prices are ok. I actually went to the Gilroy location first and loved it but every place is different. Came here today because my honey wanted menudo. I got the shrimp enchiladas since I had never had shrimp enchiladas before. The sauce was good but I was not impressed by what was inside. The shrimp were cocktail shrimps chopped up, it had no flavor whatsoever. My beans had black specks and tasted burnt. The rice was good, though. The menudo was just ok. It had 2 big bones and so much fat, my boyfriend ended up taking half the contents out which was very disappointing. The salsa was bland, we added salt to enhance the flavor but it didn't matter since it had no spice to it whatsoever, I like to burn my mouth a little, make my nose runny, make me sweat when I eat salsa. Social distancing? Not here, we were basically rubbing elbows with the family seated next to our table. The service is...
Read moreIt was a little after mid day an I have been craving a Caldo de Res ( beef soup) So I went to El Michoacano, I had been there before and wasn't nt disappointed. Needless to say I wasn't disappointed this time either. $18.99 The Caldo was just what I was Craving. It had fresh Chiote, zucchini, carrots, potatoe, a corn cob Harty portion of beef that was really tender and full of flavor you look for in a Caldo. It came with a harty side of Spanish rice and I asked for corn tortillas of a choice between flour or corn. I had a ice tea $2.00. I was served chips and salsa while I waited on my dish which didn't take a long time, there was only about 8 other patrons inside and a couple in the outside seating, facing the hill side. Camila my waitresses was on her game, she checked on me several times. The restrooms were clean. There were a several large tables for groups. 2...
Read moreNot a bad place, but way overpriced for the quality of food you get. I had the burrito ahogado plate with Chile verde. The meat was really good as well as the rice, but the beans had no salt or much flavor at all, the green tomatillo sauce they used was VERY salty and tasted like that one you buy at "Smart and Final" with added salt and the guac was not impressive. I will say, however, the Chavelas were really good as well as the salsa that they provided with the chips (the salsa did lack a little salt, but the chips compensated that, and it wasn't very spicy). Overall, not too impressed, but if I'm invited there I would go. I would definitely go for a...
