Big & Bad Boys BBQ — Restaurant in Holly Springs

I was really looking forward to trying this local BBQ spot. I’d heard nothing but glowing reviews and was excited to finally stop by. I have no doubt the food lives up to the hype, but unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to find out.

When I approached the truck, the energy felt tense. It was clear the team was busy and probably overwhelmed, which I understand happens, especially during peak times. Still, first impressions matter. The young woman at the counter greeted us with what came across as a sharp, almost aggressive tone while informing us they were low on several items. It wasn’t what she said. It was how she said it. The interaction caught me off guard and honestly, turned me off from ordering.

I told her directly that I didn’t appreciate how it came across. To her credit, she was receptive and didn’t get defensive, which I respect. But by then, the moment had passed and the appetite just wasn’t there anymore.

I truly want local businesses to thrive, and I may give them another shot down the road. But a warm, welcoming atmosphere is part of the overall dining experience and that piece fell...

Don't let the small size fool you... this tiny, unassuming trailer is killing most of the brick & mortar places I swear, and I've been to A LOT! I stopped here while passing thru Holly Springs and when I pulled up, the smell coming off that smoker let me know I "got the right one baybayyyy"!! Now let me say that they have hot or mild sauce... and everywhere I go I usually get hot because most places "hot" is really only luke warm, but this places hot is actually hot. It had me sweating and my nose was running, but it was too good to stop eating. Only thing I could even have a complaint about was 2 small things and that would be that they didn't offer ketchup packets with those bomb a** fries, and the can coke was barely cold. Food was amazing, they don't cheap out on portions that's for sure! Super polite service, made sure we got our order right. Atmosphere was a little rough though, some shade, fans, and a clean table would be nice.

I got the Big Boy Spud ($12). Here's what was on it from memory: A full to go box with potato layered on the bottom, bacon bits, cheese, pulled pork rib meat(super tender, you could get a different meat type), mild hot bbq sauce(very not hot at all, and extremely delicious), and sour cream in the corner of the box. Perfect meal and the thing was huge I couldn't finish it myself.

They also have smaller cheaper dish options if you don't feel like eating an entire meal, so...
