Review from 1 Year Ago:
While Rise does serve some really great food, the customer service is sleep walking.
The quality of the biscuits, chicken, eggs, donuts and other food items they have is quite good. Definitely better than most of the competition, baring of course Chick-fil-A. However, what really causes Rise to probably lose out on a lot of service (it was very quiet on a Sunday morning, for example) is the customer service: while not outwardly rude, the people who work at Rise seem to lack any sort of passion and will maybe say "hello" in the coldest way possible. Outside of that, the physical location looks like it has seen better days. While I understand COVID has caused a lot of places to have to adjust to more of a to-go and carry out structure, it was clear that perhaps a couple of years back, someone did a great job making a really lovely, well decorated place. But since then, it has fallen into a bit of disrepair (missing parts of decorations, lacking amenities, blank spaces, etc).
Overall, I would expect to get the bare minimum, if even that, in regard to customer service. But at the very least, whoever did the ground work clearly put in work into the recipes they serve up and at least the employees are competent enough to make your food correctly (most of the time). I hope whoever owns the place puts their passion back into it; it could be wildly successful if they shored up their customer service aspect and the overall workplace culture, which at this point in time, may as well be dead.
New Review:
The service has improved dramatically the few times I have been back to this location recently. A warm, friendly atmosphere has been instilled by the staff, who in my experience consistently greet you warmly. The speed of service has improved while food quality has remained high.
My only remaining criticism is the decor and interior. It is still very spartan and could use some serious attention to spruce it up.
Great option for Sundays or...
Read moreI don't usually post bad reviews as I like to think places have an off day, but experiences like this compel me to leave a poor review.
In town visiting my brother and he wanted to take me and my boys to Rise for breakfast. We arrived with only one person in the store. We asked for help ordering and they said we had to use the kiosk. My brother ordered a bacon biscuit with extra bacon. There wasn't a place to note crispy bacon so we told one of the staff and she said it wouldn't be a problem.
It took 30 minutes to get the food and the biscuits and gravy was cold. The two buffalo chicken biscuits were nothing like the picture...only a little bit of sauce and didn't even look like a buffalo sandwich. ( See our biscuit vs their online photo)
The crispy bacon biscuit came out with all limp, non-rendered fat bacon. My brother took it to the counter and asked if they could remake it with crispy bacon. After 20 seconds, a young lady came out and said it just came off the grill and they wouldn't make it because it was made correctly. We needed to wait for the bacon to become crispy when it cools. After stating that is not how you get crispy bacon, he asked for a refund. They refused to refund for that biscuit because they "made it right". I wish we took a picture before leaving it at the counter. $7.55 down the drain!
On top of it, all the tables were dirty. They expect you to place your own order and eat at a dirty table...but the kiosk still asks to leave a tip!
Terrible experience. Will not...
Read moreFood is very good. However, don't bother ordering online because the 30 minutes apparently is not enough time. The order is never ready at the scheduled time. The order is never ready on time and the order is guaranteed to be wrong every time. Moral of the story, eat in the restaurant!
Further edit in response to the owner. This is not a today only situation. I have had the exact same experience the last three times that I've ordered online. I show up when the food is supposed to be ready. It's not. They rush to get my order ready. They get the order wrong. I have to wait for them to correct. Most of the time I do not get a receipt. Altogether from order time to recieving (correct) food, it's about a 40-45 minute experience. I will continue to come back because the food is delicious. But you will not get more than three stars due to poor service and lack of attention to detail. I can assure you this experience had nothing to do with a new employee. That being said, I appreciate your response, I just hope that you are genuine. You should have a manager up front watching what happens and correcting issues. I've only recieved an apology one out of my last three visits (wrong and late orders all three times over a span of three months). That is...
