When we walked into Olive Garden in Holly Springs, we were told we’d have to wait about ten minutes. Now—I’ve been around long enough to know that sometimes you wait a little bit for a table. That’s fine. But here’s the thing: we asked for a booth. We walked past several open booths, and still, we were sat in the middle of the restaurant. When I asked again, we were told there weren’t any booths available. A few minutes later, a booth in plain sight was seated with other guests. Now—that may not seem like a big deal to some. But it speaks to something larger. Because when you say you don’t have something, and then a customer sees it’s available, trust is broken. And trust—whether in politics or in a restaurant—is everything. The service, unfortunately, didn’t improve. Our waitress—who seemed stretched thin—took our orders. The calamari came out lukewarm. The mozzarella sticks, at least, were hot and fresh. But the chicken gnocchi soup arrived just minutes before my mother’s entrée, far later than it should have. My drink sat empty, and no one came by to refill it. Then, when my meal finally arrived, it wasn’t what I ordered. I asked for the Tour of Italy. What showed up was lasagna. Twenty minutes later, the right plate came. By that point, the evening had been defined not by hospitality, but by frustration. And here’s the bottom line: when folks go out to eat, they’re spending their hard-earned money. They’re looking for a good meal, yes—but also for an experience that feels welcoming. That says, we see you, we care about you, we’ve got you covered. At Olive Garden Holly Springs, that didn’t happen. And until it does, I can’t recommend this location. P.S. You need to dust before health inspection.

They should really include another category on here called “Miscellaneous” or “Other.” I feel guilty giving “Service” a one-star rating, but my complaint had to be filed somewhere. My issue is not with the service, but with Olive Garden’s corporate policy of manipulating and deceiving customers out of their money. The first form of manipulation is the “suggested gratuity,” which starts at 18%. Tipping, however, begins at 0% for poor service. If the service is simply average, nothing more than what’s expected, then 15% is the proper and standard amount. An 18% tip is meant for service that is exceptional and exceeds expectations. That means going above and beyond the basic duties for which a server is already paid. When a server provides that level of excellence, I’m happy to tip above 15%. The second manipulation is calculating that inflated gratuity after taxes have been applied. We don’t tip based on the government's share. Consider this: tax rates vary between cities and states. Does that mean customers in cities with higher tax rates should be expected to pay larger tips? Or that outstanding servers in low-tax areas somehow deserve less? Of course not. Gratuity should always be calculated based on the pre-tax total. To do otherwise is misleading and unethical. There are many excellent Italian restaurants in Holly Springs that don’t rely on these deceptive practices and they’ll be the ones earning my business in the future.

I was really disappointed with our recent order. I get that delivery food won’t always be hot, but this was completely cold—I was at least expecting it to be lukewarm. The biggest issue though was the lack of sauce on the main dish. As you can see in the photo, there was barely any, which made the food really dry. The breadsticks were also a letdown—hard and with no seasoning at all. It would’ve been nice to at least get fresh ones. I asked for no olives or peppers in the salad because I’m allergic to olives, but both were in there anyway, which was frustrating. I also ordered a side of broccoli, which led to three different phone calls—first they said they didn’t have it and would refund me, then said they couldn’t refund me, and finally said they could. It was just kind of a mess. I ended up calling Olive Garden myself and spoke with a manager who was very understanding and gave me a full refund, which I appreciated. Still, for what I spent, I really expected a better experience.

What the Heck is going on at this Olive Garden?! This used to be one of our family's favorite places to eat in Holly Springs. Tonight we received the WORST service and the food was disgusting. They were not even busy, not on a wait, but the service was terrible.

We received drinks quickly and ordered a couple appetizers. The alfredo was grainy and cold and had some odd pieces of things floating in it. The spinach dip was also luke warm and unappetizing. The silverware on the table wrapped in the napkins was dirty.

30 seconds after the appetizer arrived so did the salad and one minute after that, all the entrees were out. We had just started eating the appetizer and salad. The manager brought our food and asked if he could clear off any plates since there was no room on the table. I said, "No, it all came out really fast at the same time." He didn't apologize, ignored my comment and grated cheese. The dinner was awful and soggy. The menu items have changed for the worse in my opinion, no more Stuffed mushrooms with breadcrumbs and clams or Ravioli Di Portobello with Sundried Tomato Alfredo. Our favorites for the last decade have been taken off the menu in the last few months. Olive Garden is probably trying to cut costs. Now they are "Seafood" stuffed mushrooms with fishy mushed slop inside. There was a weird brown spot inside my son's meatball and the plates felt dirty. We had to ask for more breadsticks and for drink refills.

The WORST part is that our server ignored us after the food came out and did not clear any of the plates off the table when we were done eating. I even stacked them thinking I might get his attention. I asked to place a To Go order of pasta for my husband and I sat stairing at all our dirty plates for 15 minutes while my 3 kids and I waited for the order. I was infuriated at this point sitting there waiting at a table covered in dirty stacked plates. He had not cleared any of our dishes.

The server handed me a To Go salad with some brown pieces of lettuce in it and one wrotten pepperocini with a brown wrotting spot on it which I removed by hand from the salad. Then he brought out the To Go pasta a few minutes later and didnt even bag the order. He handed me a plastic bag to do it! I had also ordered a dessert To Go and the server looked irritated. I wanted to spend money!!! You would think they would want to make more money and would be glad to have someone who is willing to wrack up the bill and leave a larger tip/gratuity as opposed to a cheap customer. I even had to ask for the breadsticks that are supposed to come with the To Go order.

I still tipped this kid 18% even though I was SO tempted to leave nothing. I decided to be the better person and do the right thing. I spent $107 tonight for a bad dining experience and NOW a stomach ache!!! We will not be going back! My family and I were weekly, regular customers a few years ago....

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Worst experience at an Olive Garden I have ever had. Sat down at our table, 10 minutes later our waiter comes to our table to finally take our drink order, at this time I ask him about an item on the menu due to an allergy and if he would ask the kitchen. Not even a minute later he comes back and says yeah sorry it can’t be accommodated, in no way did he ask the kitchen that quickly when we literally saw him walk around the corner stand and come back. We place our order, 30 minutes goes by and our food comes out .. not cooked. My pasta was hard rubber almost as if they opened a box of pasta, dumped it in water and immediately took it out. I asked the server if they could make me the meal without the pasta to just make life easier for everyone. 15 minutes goes by and I’m waiting on literally nothing but meat sauce and meat. I ask someone to grab a manager for me to speak with them to which they radioed over to request one. 15 more minutes go by and I finally see our waiter but still no manager. I tell the waiter to just cancel the order and I still would like to speak to the manager. He replies I’ll just comp the meal, walked off and came back with a check for my husbands dinner. Still were another 15 minutes into this and I have yet to see a manager so now 30 minutes have gone by from my original request to speak to a manager and have yet to see one and question if there even is any management in the whole building. While also sitting during our dinner a waitress dropped dirty items onto the floor and left them, other employees also continued to look at the item and continue to walk by it or step over it instead of taking the 2 seconds to pick it up and throw it away. On our way out we realize that the regional manager and assistant manager key card is just sitting on the waiter/waitress kiosk to add to our question of if there is management at all. This place is a joke and wouldn’t recommend anyone going and I for sure will not...

We went and got a table pretty quickly (10-15 mins) everyone ordered their food and the salad came out normally. However that’s when things went south. We waited over an hour with no update on anyone’s food (even the kids meal for my toddler) until I made a comment about how long the food is taking and the toddler was hungry, our waitress said she would go look into it. Mind you all the tables around us who came after us had all gotten their food and had eaten. About 10 minutes later she came out with the kids meal but no word on any of the 3 entrees. About 10-15 minutes after that a manager came by to ask how it was going and I told her we had been waiting for a very long time on food, she said she would go check and never returned. Our waitress came by after about 10 more minutes and said they “forgot” to make one of the dishes but they were making it now. Who knows where the two they apparently did make were. I told her the toddler was ready to go so I didn’t want the food at that point and we’d pay for what we had. She kept insisting they were making it now but it was too late at that point. She said they would comp one entree off the bill and still let us have it (even though again we said we did not want it) we paid on the kiosk and she brought the first two entrees and told us a manager would be by. We boxed those since we paid for them and let the toddler eat the grapes that came with his meal and stood up to leave. That took about another 10 minutes. When we were standing up one of the managers (I assume, she never said a word to us) came up with the forgotten entree to the table literally as we were walking out and boxed it. Never apologized or introduced herself. And also didn’t even make eye contact. Possibly the WORST experience I’ve had at a restaurant and I won’t be back to an Olive Garden any time soon. We weren’t even trusting to eat the food once we took it home, a waste of...
