I’ve been coming to Tijuana Flats in Holly Springs for years and have received great service every time, but tonight was different. Tonight, thanks to the superb service of Addie, Kayla, and Kyle — whom I described to Addie as “tall food runner guy” when requesting names for this review — I left Tijuana a smiling man and felt inspired to write this review.
My order can be a little complicated at first, so I often find myself bombarding my cashier with questions. Addie could have glared and shrugged while dealing with a high maintenance customer like me, but she didn’t. She answered every last question with a big smile, and along the way we had a fun conversation about moving into our college housing. Congrats on HPU, Addie — go get ‘em, ya superstar! =)
After finishing my meal, I decided to open my books for a minute to check off some to-do list items. Naturally, this meant that I would sit in and occupy a table that could be seating hungry customers, instead of some nerdy UNC kid who had already eaten his fill. Rather than stare me down ‘til I vacated the premises, Food Runner Guy — or “Kyle,” as he is known in public — came over and wiped off my table to ensure I had a clean space to get my work done. Kyle, if you’re reading this, you’re a legend, my dude. Keep that mindful, “customer-first” attitude of yours and you’ll soar higher than you can ever imagine! Also, hire me when you’re making the big bucks; I’d appreciate it please and thank you...
Finally, there’s Kayla, who was just gumdrops-and-rainbows happy the entire two times that we interacted tonight — one time when I offered to open the door for her when this impeccably graceful server was carrying 3 giant platters of food for the table outside, and a second time when I asked her a strange question that she gladly answered with a warm smile and an open mind. I won’t include it here, but I’m sure she laughed because she’s probably been in my shoes before lol.
To the crew at Tijuana of Holly Springs, I am impressed beyond belief. Thank you a million times over for your kindness.

Read moreWe ordered the Mega DIY Taco Bar for our staff meeting today. The Mega DIY Taco Bar is advertised as serving 10 people per order, so I ordered two of them to accommodate for the number of employees that would be eating. When they brought the food, I legitimately thought that they forgot one of our orders. I called the store to let them know that they forgot one of our orders, and the manager said that he put the order together himself based on measurements. He asked what we were missing and I told him that we were missing 1 serving of everything included in the Mega DIY Taco Bar. He said that he grouped together the protein as well as the queso so that they came in one container each. Regardless of how it was packaged, this was not almost $500.00 worth of food. Several members of our staff are unable to eat due to the lack of protein, which is already gone. The manager said that he was unable to do anything for us except give us more chips, guac and salsa. We have ordered catering from this location in the past for our staff meetings and the portions have never been an issue. They have significantly downsized their catering portions. Incredibly disappointing as this used to be one of our favorite places for our office...
Read moreWorking for this restaurant chain in a different state, trained by a partner of the company, and knowing the ins and outs of the customer service pyramid and seeing it executed correctly; it makes me very proud. I have really high expectations for when it comes to my favorite place to eat. The customer service was on point, some of the girls were new but were still on ball with their menu knowledge. The food came out surprisingly quick for such a large and complicated order, one slight error that is very common with what I chose since it's a TFlats waitress concoction, they were more than happy to fix it. The only thing they need to work on is looking busy while it's slow while having their heads on a swivel looking for things to do. The manager was really nice, such a trademark thing with this foodchain. He was nice to chat with and he gave some cool information about that specific location and district. I can't wait to go back. Moving from Florida where TJs was created to a state that upholds the Flathead way is more than a great...
