Wow. This place is truly awful. I never leave reviews. But my entire experience was so unbelievable horrible I feel it’s my responsibility to warn people to stay away. First of all the parking lot is in complete disrepair. We arrived promptly for our 7:30 reservation, and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. No problem, we decided to get a drink at the bar to wait. The bartenders are very talented. My polo pear cocktail was phenomenal. (This was early on in the evening, I was still optimistic.) We were finally seated at 8:00 which was fine. We were offered complimentary bread (which never came). Our order was taken at 8:15. The table next to us was seated, their order was taken (they were informed that they were out of lobster bisque), and their appetizers arrived. 45 minutes later we were told that they were out of lobster bisque, “the kitchen literally just told her a minute ago,” and our appetizer would be out in a minute. So clearly our waitress forgot to put our order in. When the lobster Mac and cheese finally arrived there wasn’t a single piece of lobster. Our entrees arrived at 9:35. The risotto was crunchy but the scallops were tasty. We had to send the Parmesan fries back because they literally tasted like they had been sitting in the back of the freezer for 3 years. We were offered complimentary dessert for our troubles but by this time it was 10pm and I didn’t have another hour to wait for an undoubtedly mediocre dessert. The bathrooms were revolting. It looked like they hadn’t been tended to in days. Which may be why as we were leaving the restaurant we came across a middle aged man relieving himself for all the world to see. Perhaps he was unhappy with the service as well and decided to take it out on a...
Read moreJust went to the Polo Club for dinner with my family. To say that dinner was a disappointment is an understatement. My husband ordered the french onion soup and within a few bites he said… “where’s the soup?” There was absolutely no broth, it was a piece of bread, topped with cheese, and onions on the bottom - driest soup I’ve ever seen!
I ordered the lobster mac and cheese appetizer as my meal. As I kept eating my meal, I noticed the lobster was very pink and fibrous - it wasn’t lobster but salmon. I told the waitress this is not lobster and how I was completely grossed out. She apologized, took it away only to come back to me and tell me that the chef “wasn’t able to fit the entire lobster in the pasta” and that the meat was “minced together”. Number one… the lobster mac and cheese was ONLY $16, so they wouldn’t put an entire lobster in the mac and cheese (which was only the size of a croc), if so, that’s the best ever lobster deal I’ve ever heard of in my life ($16 for an entire lobster?!) Number two, the “lobster” in my meal was clearly pink - I’ve never seen pink lobster before ever. Sure there’s a tinge on the meat, but this was salmon pink. Number three, I’ve never seen lobster in an organized rectangle before. It’s usually not uniform and in chunks, not fibrous and pull apart.
The waitress took the mac and cheese off the tab, but the entire bill was still $290. Additionally (and I’m not exaggerating), we heard her apologize to EVERY single table in our vicinity - I think she was serving 6 tables, each of which had some type of issue.
I will never go back,...
Read moreWe went to The Polo Club early on a Thursday evening. We were greeted warmly, and our coats were checked by the hostess. Being early, we were given our pick of where we wanted to sit. We chose the main dining room not far from the impressive open kitchen. The main bar was impressive, but we'll save that for another visit. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and took our drink orders quickly. I didn't have one but others in my party had Cosmopolitans which were excellent. Though they looked interesting, we skipped the small plate warm appetizers and split a Ceasar salad. It was a bit disappointing the dressing was not regular Ceasar, applied very lightly, and had a lemon base. Next time, we'd try another. For dinner, one party shared the 32 Oz Porterhouse, and we each chose 6oz filets. For sides, both fingerling and gratin potatoes were shared. Both choices of steak were excellent! They were cooked perfectly medium rare with a nice char on the outside and accompanied with a few slices of asparagus and a nice light steak sauce. Nothing but raves from all in our party for the dinner. Quite full, we skipped dessert and opted for a decaf coffee and a cappuccino. After dinner, the manager gave us a nice tour of all the seating areas, back bar, and wine cooler. Very impressive with lots of options for a different dining experience each time you...
