I will give them 4 stars because the food is usually fresh, the place is clean, and they are unique in putting the jalapeño ranch in their burritos which is actually really good. The only problem is that oftentimes the steak and chicken are not seasoned well. I would expect some peppers, garlic, etc, but it often is very plain. This isn't a huge deal because the ranch makes up for it. I think my main issue is the rice and beans. The beans just don't have good flavor. I don't know why but they're not as good as at every other restaurant. They're a little more bitter and less salty... same goes for the rice. Nowhere near enough tomato flavor in the rice. I think that's what most people mean when they say the food is bland. Although it's a very thin line between under seasoning and over seasoning so I understand why they would rather be conservative. Chicken tinga is actually flavorful. I wish they had bigger cups for the sauces because it's never enough. Pico de gallo doesn't have enough...

Definitely a place I would come back to!! I live about 30 min away and we got hungry while out this way. Never heard of the place but thought we would try it out. I have been to my fair share of Mexican style restaurants and this place is definitely up there. And like I said I would drive out this way just to eat here. The ambiance might not be fancy but it’s very chill, laid back and taste great!! Very flavorful. I was grossly disappointed especially after seeing the ratings from past diners. Apparently most people have no idea what constitutes good Mexican food. I ordered the $8 guacamole and it tasted like floor cleaner. To be fair the chicken tacos and carnita taco wasn't horrible, although rather tasteless. The refried beans were from a can, not freshly made. Don't go expecting a dining experience. Yes, there are tables to dine in and clearly it is casual dining, but Mucha Salsa is the equivalent of a hot dog stand.
