Nice place for a quiet breakfast! Hubby and I stopped in after spending the morning at nearby Sandy Beach. We shared a acai bowl, a Kai latte (signature mac nut flavor), and a piece of coffee cake. Everything was fresh tasting and the coffee cake was hearty. The latte was unique, comforting, and not overly sweet. The shop is very clean with restrooms on the outside. Although there was only one worker, our order was prepped fairly quickly and more customers filed in after us. Would return!

Got a hot macadamia nut latte as well as an açaí bowl here while visiting in January. Both very good. Loved this latte. It was so yummy and warm. Perfect for the start of the day. The honey that was drizzled on the top of my açaí bowl was very good. The staff here were also so nice and friendly. One of the workers asked us about where we were traveling from and how our trip was going which was sweet.

Ammmmmmazing!!!!! I tried both of the new items, lavender latte it was perfect! It wasn’t too sweet, which I normally is cautious of flavor for that reason. But it was extremely pleasant & flavorful. We also tried the new egg bake item, it was yummy!!! The barista was so nice, & helpful!! The owner (thinking) was also extremely friendly & offered us the WiFi password.

I definitely recommend Kai Coffee shop in Kalama Valley Shopping Center to friends & family & give it a 5 star rating. I've been a regular customer during their first year of business at this location & have watched it grow into a happening little coffee shop! What makes it special in my book? For starters, the serene, picturesque view of the surrounding mountains feels cozy & there's ample easy parking. Dog-friendly. Nice indoor & outdoor seating situated on a no-hype prominent kama'aina property which is unique. But it's really more about the people there, the employees, who make it stand out. The shop manager Kalio & the baristas actually greet you warmly when you enter & they are comfortable in chatting with you as a  customer to make you feel welcomed. Even when they're busy. Kalio keeps the operation clean & running smoothly while the baristas Ryan, Mike, Alyssa & Emily serve up delicious food & coffees with a smile. These are happy people, employees who love their job & their customers & who easily share their special brand of Aloha with you. Come down to visit them & have a cuppa joe with a view. My favorite is the hot Cafe Mocha, so delicious & btw Ryan makes these amazing 8-petal flower designs that are downright pieces of art you almost don't want to touch it! The other Kai Coffee blends are equally tasty. Everyone here is so attentive & friendly you'll come back for more. IMHO though, the only detail lacking at the shop is art work on the wall done by local artists which regularly rotates for new looks. As an artist who lives in Kalama Valley, perhaps the owner will call me for ideas?...

My husband and I wanted to grab a quick drink before catching the sunrise at Sandy’s and we saw online that the nearest open coffee shop was Kai coffee. We did not expect anything special but we were wrong. The coffee was hands down the BEST coffee I’ve ever had. Ryan was our barista and he was a super sweet guy who really knows his stuff and served us with a smile. Also he poured me an amazing latte art in my Kai latte. We are definitely coming back to try the food. After our experience I read online that Kai coffees slogan was aloha in every cup and I believe that Kai coffee has the people who make the place...
