Skip the brisket pizza, and go for the pound of brisket instead.
We stopped here for dinner while driving through the gorge and got a build-your-own pizza with smoked mozzarella, brisket, and basil, along with some beers to try, and a pound of brisket to go.
The pizza was ok, but we were disappointed with the amount of brisket that came on it and thought we should have just ordered the pound before leaving so we could have added some to the pizza. The large basil leaves were a nice design, but not practical for eating. Not sure if one of the slices was missing a basil leaf because that's all that comes on it or if it fell off on its way to our table.
The beer was also ok. My favorite was the King Size Stout.
The brisket is why I give this place four stars and why I'll come back. Not fatty but had the flavor, and perfectly smokey.
As for the atmosphere, it's really chill and cozy, and if it's a nice day, it would be a great place to eat and drink outside because this location is surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Everyone I talked to or interacted with who worked there was super nice and friendly, except for our server, unfortunately. He was kind of rude to the table next to us, too, so maybe he was just in a mood or having a bad day.
I have not been to the Portland location, so I don't know how...
Read moreThis was a great little stop. We had chips and salsa & beer cheese pretzels. I enjoyed the elderberry kombucha - super delicious! While the food was okay I would not say that it was great. Not terrible by any means, but just not as good as I had hoped. My cheese looked nice and melty and delicious but that was just the top layer, underneath it was cold and hard. I’m kind of a sucker for a soft pretzel and I would say that these where pizza dough made into sticks to resemble pretzels. So breadsticks lol, but still good. The salsa wasn’t great, but again not bad. Later that night I went back and got desserts to go. I felt that the cheesecake was great and very delicious. The lemon blueberry cake we thought was actually just a blueberry pound cake. It was fresh and good, but probably more of a breakfast item. I would go back, as it was a great little spot with plenty of seating, food options, and drink options. I feel that the major downfall was the lack of cool air. I personally don’t mind the heat, but my daughter and others seemed a bit miserable with it. The other downfall was the service. When I went back to get dessert- it was really difficult to get someone to give me my to go order. Almost everyone seemed to busy to help me - so a bit strange. But I...
Read moreThe food there is alright and I have worked there before. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to make some money while working at this establishment. It takes longer for me to learn the ropes and to understand how things are done but when I do get the system down I can do a good job. However, during the time I was learning the ropes while working I came across some workers who were very impatient and hard on me when I was just trying to do my best and I wish that things were different so I didn't have to go home and feel so discouraged and sad. I just wish I could have had a much more gracious time while working there. But on the other hand, I got to befriend other workers there who were really kind and thoughtful and who appreciate the hard work I would put in on a day to day basis and let me know their appreciation. And for that, I am blessed.
I think there's a balanced environment when working there and you can make decent money and get over time if you really put yourself out there and working hard and do what you can to make the establishment as successful as you can. If you need hard cash or just trying to save money then working here can help you earn some bucks. For sure :)
The food there is decent and the Acadian Pizza is still my...
