If you ever find yourself anywhere near Hooks, Texas, stop what you’re doing and head to Acadia Jeaux’s. I had the special of the day — Jalapeño Popper Meatloaf — and let me tell you, this was not your grandma’s Sunday loaf. It was pure, to-die-for gooey goodness stuffed inside a classic, tender meatloaf. Whoever dreamed this up deserves a culinary medal. 🏅
The wait staff was as warm and welcoming as the food, and when they found out I was staying in a hotel, they even hooked me up with extra dinner leftovers. That’s small-town hospitality at its finest.
And then there’s the owner — a friendly character with a great sense of humor who clearly loves what he does. You can feel it in the food, hear it in the laughter, and see it in the way everyone knows his name.
Bottom line: come for the food, stay for the people, leave with a happy belly and a smile...
