Local favorite.... of the locals. It's not bad for what it is, my largest issue is that the wait is typicaly not worth the wait, and the most accurate source of information is the sign outside of the place, not any digital source as you can easily drive there multiple times on conflicting information only to find it closed and I have very little tolerance for businesses that cant be bothered to keep me in the loop on things as simple as hours of operation online when they have the ability to do so.
People around here say to me "oh the owners probably dont know how to do that stuff or keep up with it" meanwhile 3/4 of their employees are in highschool, I'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to pay one of the kids a few bucks extra to keep their web presence maintained let alone easily wielded as a real marketing tool.
Anyway the place has been there for ages, it's just soft serve with flavors added in, and some other stuff like funnel cakes it's a great place for people with kids who need simple. I personally prefer the Brusters down the street if you want more complex ice cream, Brusters being more comparable to Ben and Jerry's where as the Windmill features items you would find at a more upscale fair or carnival booth.
Its not poor quality, its above average for what it is, but this is the high end of cheap... which is essentialy Hopewell in a nutshell so it fits perfectly where it is and for what it is. The review is only 3 stars because I see room for improvement, communication is lacking and I'm pretty sure they dont take credit cards which for many places is an instant bad review . As said though for what it is it's great, so I was gentle.

Read moreI’ve come here for years, maybe I just didn’t notice until recently…. But I feel like the prices have gotten insane. It’s definitely good icecream, I love it. But for a large m and m snow storm (a glorified McFlurry) to cost $10 is insane to me. I was also just a little annoyed with this most visit, the first thing I told the girl is that I wanted my icecream with lids and a cup holder so I can take it to go, it wasn’t a big deal but they served it to me to eat there and I had to ask again and wait for them to fix it. Also $1.39 to add crunchies to soft serve? Expensive. I did it anyway I wanted it, and there wasn’t even like a teaspoon of them on there. I thought they used to have an option called like “twinkles” or something? Where it was crunchies and sprinkles but it wasn’t listed so you had to pay for both ): at the end of the day I’ll still probably come back because it’s the only place I know to get peanut butter soft serve. Just will have to come less often...
Read moreMy daughters and I went there for dinner and mini golf. We like their burgers and hot dogs, better than any of the chains around. French fries are their best item, imo. Everyone there was friendly and nice. Mini golf was fun- no crowds on a weeknight so we just went at our own pace. We haven't been in a few years, it looks like they redid the course in blue carpet- it's pretty nice-looking and fun. The only bummer was that the restroom was out of order so when my daughter had to use the bathroom partway through the golf, we kind of rushed through the round so we could leave and find a bathroom. Once they fix that, I think it's 5 stars, at least for the meals and golf. Didn't stay for ice cream because we couldn't this time, but I've had it before. It's very good, especially the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches-we love those. I definitely recommend. Lots of parking...
