Market Pizza — Restaurant in Houlton

Met friends in between our homes and found Market Pizza for lunch. Food was delicious and appealing to the eye. We started with the garlic knots - a little biscuit texture with cheese. Really yummy. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a potato pizza (when in The County!). The crust was tender and flavorful. I really enjoyed the potato pizza, great balance of flavors and texture. Pepperoni was delicious too but I’ll always go for the funky pizza first. The staff were lovely. Friendly, funny, helpful, A++. Market square location is very charming. Soda shop vibes. It was not nice outside so we sat for a good long time after lunch. There was space for other patrons so weren’t taking away from other customers. This was my first visit to Market Pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. I was not expecting comfortable seating in such a narrow restaurant, but my mother was able to be accommodated while in her wheelchair. The additional diner counter style seating was nice too. The service was friendly and fast. We tried the garlic and cheese knots. They were very good, and the marinara sauce that came with them was excellent. We both ordered 10" pizzas. My mother had the BLT pizza and I ordered the meat lovers. Both of them looked exactly the way you would expect. The crusts were thin and just crisp enough on the edges to hold together and not bend to let the toppings slide off. They did not skimp on cheese or toppings. I’d give the business no stars, but I don’t have that option.

The pizza is average, but the only time I can seem to get it is out of the warmer.

I’ve ordered from here twice, and both times never received my orders.

The first time I ordered at noon, to have my food ready for a business meeting at 5:30. When I arrived to pick up my food, it hadn’t even been started and the storefront didn’t appear busy. The young lady at the counter apologized and offered to deliver my order (less than half a mile away) when it was ready. After an hour, my food had not arrived and I when I went to pick it up, it was cold.

I tried placing another order today, and after being told it would be ready in 45 minutes, (for two large pizzas and a small Greek salad), our order hadn’t even been entered into their system or cooked, and again the storefront...
