Do not eat here. Visiting the area for work. I am from South Texas and know my Mexican food well and have had some in many states. Most of the clientele were old guys drinking and gossiping and drinks. Drunk dude at the bar kept eye balling me and the other drunk guy sat right behind me after I walked in. Thought I was gonna have to stand up but I moved to be able to see him instead. He stared at me and then left. He was a favorite of the waitress apparently.Ordered tostadas and the meat tasted old and was not fresh at all. It was so bad I tossed it out. Waste of $15 for three tostadas no less. No beans, no rice, no salad. $5.00 old meat tostadasa. I ended up going to Taco Bell, which was actually better. The green salsa was the best thing here and was very good. I may come by just to buy that but will not order food here again. Made me ill after tasting it and took me a while to be able to eat. Don't eat across the street either. Food was not good and lady has an attitude if you do not speak Spanish or whatever she spoke. Condescending and rude. Not a good match will...
Read moreI was having a hard time with the menu a lot of the items were in full Spanish so you couldn't tell what the dish was even by the picture without translating with Google. They only had bottles of Coke so if you wanted another Coke during your meal you paid full price for another one cost was around $4 a piece for a 16 oz diet Coke and 12 oz Coke in glass bottle. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and my husband got the molcajete tampico. The portions were decent, the prices were ok my husband's dish was around $30 and my chicken chimichamga was around $10, only complaint I had was the red sauce they poured over my chimichanga it was more like red water than a sauce the flavor was off and it soaked everything on my plate to the point that my rice and beans were now pretty much soup on my plate. My husband enjoyed his dish so I don't want to leave a bad review cause of one dish. I plan to go back and try something different and see if it's better than the chinichamga I'd...
Read moreCame to El Tampico for the first time. The food was alright. The salsa was pretty good. Very smooth with no chunks at all - I like to have chunks in my salsa personally. I ordered two carne asada tacos and a side of refried beans. The tacos were really good. The steak was well marinated and had a great flavor. The beans on the other hand were thick and had no flavor whatsoever. My mom got a regular soft ground beef taco. She enjoyed it but wished there was more cheese. My friend got the burrito supreme. He loved it. He also got a side of guacamole, which he said is the best. I will say the service...
