The Shack — Restaurant in Houma

I don't mind paying for good quality food but when I'm paying $170 for a meal and it is not top quality I have a problem with it My husband and two grandkids had the worst experience I had the most beautiful flounder which had no flavor at all not even a salt flavor crawfish was smaller than my pinky finger I would be embarrassed to sell that in my restaurant at least tell your customer how small they are and if they agree to still get them that's on them my granddaughters chicken tenders had absolutely no flavor at all we would go there often but stopped going due to no flavor in the food we decided tonight it must of changed but we had the biggest regret the manager didn't even come out and talked with us as a retired chef I don't see how they are still in business when I go to a Cajun restaurant I want flavor in my food very disappointed we will not be going back. P S. People that give this place a good review has no clue of what good food...

We have been to Pigeon Forge plenty of times, usually on our anniversary. This year was our 25th so just wife and I this trip. We heard of “Snow” being built and have been anxious to try it out since we always go to Ober to snow tube we read the reviews and the scares of the long lines etc so when we pulled up and only saw 8 vehicles we were optimistic. Nice surprise to find out that my friend and I were the ONLY two customers in the entire building! Not sure if this is normal but it rained most of the trip that week and the day we went was a beautiful sunny day, so we think that people went to do outdoor activities on a pretty day while we went indoors. Not sure but all I know is that we got our moneys worth for sure! Paid for one hour session and rode 28 times! A blast. The building is super clean and nice. We recently had our family yearly gathering here. I find the prices were outrageously high. A gratuity of 20% was automatically added to our bill. I do not mind that when large groups with multiple checks are gathered that they add the gratuity, but we did not feel the server deserved 20%. How will a server know if they did a good job if their tip is included in the bill. I wanted to pay the bill minus the gratuity to make a point but did not want to create a scene at a family event. I, nor anyone else that attended, will ever eat there again. Too much $ for appetizers as well as meals and the service was horrendous . The fried jumbo shrimp could have been anything. The seasoning was so strong it was overwhelming. We had one server for over 20 people! I do not believe it deserves even one star!
