Burger House — Restaurant in Houston

I was looking for my professor's place of residence so I could stand outside his bedroom, hold a boombox above my head, and win his affections. Me and Dr. Burger never got along, but I really needed this grade.

I typed "Dr. Burger's House" and my GPS brought me here. Now I'm no architect, but this seemed less like a home and more like an American quick dining establishment located in a shopping plaza, but what do I know? I'm just a review on Google Maps!

I walked into "his home" and was presented with a selection of delicious hamburgers and combo meals on his personal bulletin board. I called out "Dr. Burger! Dr. Burger! Don't be shy!" The apparent housekeeper popped up from under the counter and asked "You want 2 burgers with french fry?" I'm thinking "Wow, this is some great hospitality."

I snuck her a $10 bill in an unsuccessful attempt to get some information from her, but she was kind enough to hand me some change back so I had money for the toll, how thoughtful!

Unfortunately my plan backfired, as he never came home despite me sitting there all day. It was getting dark, all of his guests left, and the housekeeper kept yelling "You leave now, 911 come!" and while I appreciated her offering to set up an appointment for me to come back on September 11, it would have been too late, as the semester would have been over.

Overall, I failed the class, but Dr. Burger's housekeeper's...

I was a consistent lunch customer of Burger House around 10 years ago, as I worked around the corner from them. I hadn't been back for several years .... until last week.

I brought a coworker after bragging about their burgers and fries. I was so embarrassed! My friend ordered a burger without cheese... it arrived at the window with cheese. She and the lady behind the counter actually had words because my friend was told to just "scrape it off." Seriously????!!!!! I finally got involved and said she needed a new patty. The lady complied, but with a very bad attitude.

Their burgers were average frozen patties, not the delicious hand-made burgers of previous years.

The lack of cleanliness has also become a factor. Just doesn't see. like they care enough to invest any time, energy, or money into maintaining a great burger place. So sad.

Holy cow this place is great. I came here with a friend because we were on Galveston Road 3 and we were hungry for lunch. This place is in a cruddy little strip mall, and it would be super easy to miss it.

Inside, you order at the counter, and then when your order is placed up in the window, you go get it yourself.

You can get 1/3 lb or 1/2 lb burgers, turkey burger, vegetarian burger. And your choice of a zillion toppings. I got sauteed onions and mushrooms. This thing was so much more delicious than I would have expected. Pretty sure the buns were house-made. The tater tots were also really good -- I can't wait to come back again and try onion rings or fries next time.

If you're in Clear Lake / Webster and in the mood for a burger, don't go to any of the fast food places, make your way here instead. You'll be super happy...
