I have been to Chimichurri a few times and never had an issue until Mother’s Day. I had a 5:45p.m. reservation we were a little early (as I was told to do since I requested the patio seating). We had to wait to be seated and was given the Mother’s Day menu along with the regular menu. We informed the waitress that we will be ordering from the Mother’s Day menu. Since we had already viewed the menu we were ready to place our order. The waitress returned and informed us that the Mother’s Day menu was no longer available. We explained to her that we came to Chimichurri specifically for the Mother’s Day menu. We were confused and disappointed, for one this was my first outing since the beginning of COVID. Confused because it was advertised as the Mother’s Day menu which means that the menu should have been available throughout day, (although some patrons will prefer the regular menu). I was ready for some lobster bisque. We asked for the manager who apologized and mentioned that they were serving the menu since 11:00 a.m. which still does not explain how they will be completely out of food that early in the evening, which clearly indicates it was poor planning on their part. Nowhere on the menu did it say that the specific menu will only be served during a specific time. The manager did say there was nothing she can do but the least she could have done is offer us an appetizer or dessert on the house. As of today, May 13, 2021, the Mother’s Day menu is still on their website. We were ready to leave but my grandson was hungry, so we decided to stay and order from the regular menu. As if not being able to get the food that we came for was not enough, I ordered a bowl of black bean soup which arrived cold not even lukewarm and I returned it to the kitchen. In addition, my daughter ordered the Langostinos Crocantes which arrived on a bed of greens with tiny pieces of peach, mango and avocado with no Latin sauce which should have been included. She had to ask for some type of dressing so she can consume the greens. Thanks, Chimichurri for ruined my Mother’s Day. For my next celebration I will take the 30 minutes drive into Houston. Although I enjoy the food at Chimichurri you will not be seeing me...
Read moreChimichurri is a nice restaurant and overall the food is great. The servers are awesome however I think they need an improvement on customer service and managing. I’m coming from a professional industry and all this things are very important to me. My friends and I had dinner last night and lots of things went wrong. I’m putting out this review hopping I’m helping the business. Before I mention what went wrong let me explain that I’ve been to Chimichurri a hundred times with and without reservations and I’m very familiar with the restaurant. My husband and I we walked in....no one was greeting us anyway I went and I told the young lady that I have reservations she asked the name and after couple of minutes told us because she can’t serve us because my husband had dressy shorts, button up shirt and dressy flip flops. Keep in mind every time when is hot outside he always dresses like that and we never had a problem I guess wasn’t busy and they need it our business 🤔 besides unless I don’t know where to look on there website it’s no listing of a dress code. If you a professional business you list the dress code also when you make reservations they should do a friendly reminder about dress code and if someone shows dress not as expected be kind and friendly remind the client that you will be happy to serve them but for future reference there is a dress code. After I spoke with the owner we got seated and I ordered a bottle of Divino wine and I’ve been told it’s out of stock then I ordered a rack of lamb that was out of stock too then before I finished with my dinner I wanted to order something to go for my son but I’ve been told the kitchen it’s closed. I couldn’t ordered to go or dessert. I didn’t realized they close the kitchen while having guests at the table. I hope my review will help the restaurant to improve management and training. Let me remind servers are great the front desk ladies needs a little training how to deal with clients and management in...
Read moreI have gone to Chimichurri’s for years but have not been since Covid. My family and I had a terrible experience yesterday and will NEVER return. I brought my mom there yesterday for an early Mother’s Day (along with my dad and two son’s). We went early enough (between 4:15-4:30pm) so not to catch the dinner crowd. My mom uses a cane so I dropped them off at the front door to get a table while I parked. When I went to meet them they were walking out and said it was by reservation only. I go in an ask, when is their next reservation to be told by, what seemed to be the manager, that said they are booked for a week! What?!! Mind you, the the majority of their tables (if not all) were open. I was shocked and we left. The more I thought about it the more frustrated I felt so I called back to see why they wouldn’t seat patrons when there were clearly open tables. I was transferred to the manager (who sounded like the same person who turned us away) and he said it was by reservation only. I asked when their reservations were supposed to arrive and he said 5:30pm. I told him we were there at 4:15 ish and wasn’t even given the option to have a quick meal before the reserved seats arrived. He had no solutions and just said I’m sorry ma’am. I expressed I would never return and how ridiculous I thought that was. To make the situation worse, I had my husband call and they said they had a reservation available for 8:15 pm that evening. Then I had another friend call to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, and they said they had an 8:30 pm reservation available for that evening! What?!? I’m not sure if it’s because my dad and youngest son were dressed more casual BUT if there is a dress code, they should have just said that. To say the least, I will never return! I am disgusted with the way my family and I...
