Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Houston

Tried to place an order at the drive thru. The store manager running the window wasn't even aware of the special deal listed on their drive thru menu. The manager entered my debit card incorrectly, then ran it several times causing a fraud alert. I spoke to my bank and cleared the fraud alert, but by this time my food had been sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes. I asked the manager to recook my food since it was not my fault that the card was not run properly the first time. The manager refused to cook my food fresh, saying that his store was closed even though it was only 8:30pm and the store is open until 10pm. The manager told me he would not serve me anything and I could call corporate if I wanted to talk to someone about it. By the time I got ahold of someone, the chicken had been sitting on the counter by the window for about 15-20 minutes, but the manager then took it back out of the box and put it back under the heat lamp with the other chicken! Disgusting and improper food handling. Don't be surprised if your food is cold or you get sick from eating here, it's the manager that's doing it! I have been there many times and the food is great. However, today the male staff member was incredibly rude. He got mad that I was using a coupon. I asked a simple question. Does a biscuit come with it? He proceeded to tell me to "Read my Coupon." When I asked again, he said, "What do you think you get for $5.00?" I told him, I don't have to come here. He said do what ever you want. I have lodged a complaint with Churches corporate and am going to look into the BBB next. I must admit, I was never sarcastic, nor did I raise my voice. I also paid extra for 2 orders of fries.($2.00 each.) When I got home there was maybe 12 fries in each bag. My wife thought this was a joke, until I told her about the Horrible attitude they had. My advise, don't go there. I know I won't anymore, unless I got an apology and a refund for my fries.

Update- The corporate office contacted me, and promised to make it right. I did receive an apology and they replaced my entire meal for free. I have been back a few times and haven't had the issue anymore. I wil continue...

This by far the best Church's in Houston! I don't know what happened over the years but Church's Chicken taste has went down tremendously. Back in the day Church's was always flavorful but now its hard to find that flavor. I don't know if most have changed the recipe or what's going on but most Church's are just terrible.. Most Church's now the original don't have any flavor and the spicy has flavor but they fry it too hard till its dark and the color shouldn't be that much of a difference between original and spicy. I'm here to tell you if you miss the old Church's flavor this one on Clay Rd has the flavor and it is fried perfectly! Everyone I told about this location has agreed that this is the best Church's and have started eating here regularly. The one on Tidwell and 290 I will say is ok depending on who is working but this one is hands down the best in Houston!
