I had taken down my original review due to it containing inaccurate information. In the aforementioned review I asserted that reservations were not necessary, but learning they very much are from a direct reply via the owner, further evidenced by the "reserve table" button on the browser, I decided to rescind the entire review because I did not want one inaccuracy to delegitimize the foundation of my critiques. For context, I will summarize the experience I had in abridged fashion. I was a part of a party of four, we were there to dine at the tail end of the lunch period to celebrate Mother's day. We enter the reception, my party is informed a reservation is standard procedure and when it became known we hadn't scheduled ahead, the receptionist took pause and called for another employee to make sure it was okay to allow us a seat. We were in fact allowed a table, and it may seem a courtesy, but this table was next to the kitchen and the bathroom of the floorplan. You may be wondering, "why complain about an accommodation when we did not have a reservation, beggars can't be choosers", and it's quite simple; the restaurant was at 20-30 percent capacity. There was no event in which this eatery would become overwhelmed by impregnating reservations. Dinner typically start's from 5 to 6 pm, we were there at 4 pm give or take. When my mother asked to to be reseated at a table near the windows, the hostess made an audible huff and snatched up the menus, paced across the room and transplanted our seating. In the reply to my original review the owner asserted that restaurants work by sectioning off spaces for waitstaff to tend to, and for that reason we were seated in the most undesirable location, yet I find the entire reply to be kurt and defensive. That statement assumes I am ignorant to this industry but that is patently false. I have years in the food and service industry, I have worked with waitstaff and have occupied those positions, I am not a shrewd customer or someone that cries about a stain on the silverware. I didn't set out to make a blogpost like some sad karen. Picking apart one perceived fallacy is not a way to satiate a problem. My review does not become invalid if you swat down a morsel of bad information or infer I don't know the service industry. In the original review I touched on ideas of classism, or the controversial word "racism", and even profiling, but none of it was addressed, it was ignored and extinguished. That is not how you run a business, you need to open your ears and your mind to a customer's concerns and complaints. Have a dialogue, don't allow your hubris to impede how you settle problems or adverse situations that intersect your business. I understand why you would get defensive when certain phrases are associated within a negative connotation towards your business. This is your investment, it is your labor, your nest egg. My review was never an attack on you or to harm your profit margin, it was a critique of those operating within the restaurant. Was the employee reprimanded when they had a completely inappropriate attitude or were you more concerned with snuffing the flame of my negative review so it didn't affect the traffic coming through the door? Where are the priorities set. There wasn't an apology, there was only correction, a " well actually" factor that stained the entirety of your reply. And for what, to persuade potential patrons that I am unreasonable personality who seeks the thrill of putting down underdog business owners for recreational purposes? I am not the type of guy that hurries to yelp to character assassinate a bus boy for spilling sauce on my shoes. I am not even asking for the hostess to be fired, although her gossiping, argumentative attitude was not professional, especially in closed quarters within ear range of every customer seated. All I really wanted was for you to listen. 60 percent of restaurants close down during their first year of operation. Pomodoro's is not immune to this fate. I suggest to brave the rest of 2022 onward, you listen...
Read moreI’ve visited Pomodoro's Clear Lake City many, many, times and made it my go to Italian Restaurant to get quality, Italian food. Eventhough they referenced to my suprise a "Ribeye with shrimp" and crab meat on top of "mashed potatoes and asparagus"? That's meat and tatters food! Why serve it in an alledged talian restaurant? The dining room ambiance is open, clean as is the entire facility, .Pomodoro's is a family-owned Italian restaurant, and I can’t say "enough" about some of the past great food experiences I have had. From the moment I and friends just walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles by all, especially by the hostess and "Antonella" and "Fanni" who sadlyis not there anymore and starting her own restaurant. On the negative side, I have to now exclude their past "exceptional" service and now some long wait times for food and drinks. Another negative they are just getting a little pricey which is starting to raise eyebrows. Surprisingly, Pomodoro's is "NOT" mentioned in the "13 Best Italian Restaurants" In Houston or the 13 Best Pizza Places in Houston why?Pomodoro's prices are up there with them. Antonella needs to remember that the customers come first and must work on customer service and ensuring that the service staff learn and use Antonella's personalized touch. I will most likely never return to the Clear Lake/ Houston establishment. I had recommended this restaurant to several friends and business acquaintances and they noted 1- Food has become pricey, 2- The Building temperature is mostly kept too cold, especially in the bar area. Also to my suprise "their pizza sometimes is not spicy enough or baked enough and much to bland, as other customers have posted "Factoid" There are so many other great italian options in the Clear Lake /:Houston area. Especially Frenchies who has a real Italian menu, Villa Capri, Birraporetti's, Sofia's Italiano, or Yvette's in League City many more. and for awsome Pizza "LA VOLTA PIZZA CLUB IN AUSTIN" I have reduced my five-star rating from 5...
Read moreIt has become a big disappointment based on having previously eaten at the Clear Lake City Store and dinned a couple of times at their quaint League City location and found their food and service fair and Pomodoro's new premium prices charged, should be only if they use high-quality ingredients and a more "substantial" portion would be expected. The price paid for what was received I felt was "excessive." especially when they add a 3% service charge of the total bill for using a credit card, especially since Pomodoro's premium prices charged, high-quality ingredients and a more substantial portion were expected. The price paid for what was received I felt were "excessive." especially when they add 3% charge of the total bill for using a credit card. The food and service here is simply not worth the price, "Factoid" the value just isn't there! So, if you want small portions with pre-packaged ingredients, you can find a better meal for less money "elsewhere."

As many other restaurants also dealt with prices having steadily increased, but not their "food quality" and service, which has decreased at their Clear Lake City Pomodoro's! "Factoid" having experienced dinning at other real "topnotch italian restaurants Seabrook's Villa Capri, or their neighbor italian restaurant in Nassau Bay "Frenchie's" Italiano restaurant who as of last week exceeded quality, service and portions compared to Pomodoros League city location! In summary Villa Capri and Frenchie's in comparison to Pomodoros have a better "phenomenal" Italian food and service compared to either of the 2 Pomodoro's left. LASTLY THEY DON'T hit you with a 3% service fee to offset a sneaky credit card...
