Sweet Spot Cafe — Restaurant in Houston

Came here for ice cream and what I got exceeded my expectations. I honestly would have been happy with 6 or so flavors of regular ice cream. Instead I faced a display of crafted gelato. I make ice cream at home and dreamed co of having enough help to make stratticiatella gelato. (Please excuse the misspelling and misnomer.) Tonight I had some. I ordered a medium sized cup, which the assistant explained to me was 2 cups of ice cream. The cup looked small enough. I didn’t expect 2 giant scoops of ice cream erupting from the cup like 3-D Mickey Mouse ears! Somehow I managed to eat almost all of it. That’s pretty embarrassing to say, but I felt it would be a shame to waste it. I also bought some gum from the many sweet filled self serve bins lining the walls and an extra large packets of those waxed bottles filled with colored sugar juice for a friend who loves them. To me, this place is off the charts FABULOUS!!! Go & see for yourself. This is an independent review. The staff are incredible! The coffee, ice cream, Gelato, baked goods & sweets are SO great! It is my new FAVORITE coffee shop. Again, to me, MUCH better than the major chain coffee shop. No, the selection is not as broad as the major chain, but finding that One Perfect drink is all I need. They can probably, maybe (?) do some off-the-menu things, as long as it's not too crazy. The Salted Caramel ice cream is out of this world! You think the small is not enough, but it turns out to be the Perfect amount when you savor every bite slowly! The Sweet Shop is also Kosher & Vegetarian friendly. Eat in or take out options. My husband and I met the owner at HEB and she asked if we would visit her restaurant sometime. We love to support local businesses, so today we tried Sweet Spot. We had the salmon special for lunch and s'mores gelato for our dessert. Both the entree and the gelato were so good! Next time we will try the cheese enchiladas. The restroom was also sparkling clean. The only suggestion I have is to feature bit more chocolate in the candy area. There are lots of other candies, like kosher gummies.
