This place has a lot of potential. First let's start with the corn chips they give you and the salsa. The corn chips at times are to steal or they taste like they have been overcooked. Their salsa could be extremely delicious if they would stop putting too much pepper on the and salt in the salsa! Chill with the pepper! Us Mexicans don't over do pepper in all our food. Chill! Also, their breakfast could be good if the person cooking the egg would stop treating the egg as if it was a beef fajita... they love overcooking egg in this place. The egg gets to your table smelling like a volcano eruption. I mean chill! Beat the egg add a little of butter or oil and cook the egg a little the own heat will take care of the complete cooking on its own! What I think they are doing is cooking the egg in the skillet or big plancha. Use a small little cooking pan and make the egg using the heat of the big skillet and make a decent egg. Also their tortillas are the absolute best! Flour and Corn! You can't go wrong! They are the king of tortillas. The other thing that I love here is their CHICKEN MOLCAJETE PLATE THAT HAS NOPALES AND MOZARELLA CHEESE ALL OVER! THEY DO IT AMAZING! THATS THE BEST DISH THEY GOT! their refried beans are not that great. They use tons of chorizo to give them flavor and that's all super unnecessary. Some of us don't like chorizo on everything. So chill! Their choriqueso is over the tops greassyyyyyy... I don't like it personally but my family gets it and what I saw was the cheese under a pool of grease!...
Read moreOnly giving 5 starts so people can actually see my review!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food was overall a 4/5 im not going to complain about it. MAKE SURE you demand for good service if you are a table of 4+ because even if they don’t provide it they will automatically charge you the gratuities its about 18-20%. I have always believe that the tip is earn by providing good service and making sure nothing else is needed when we are eating. The server did not know what is included in the plates. We asked if the plate does not come with fries add extra but if it does, do not add them, and well the plate did come yet she still charged us for the extra fries. But what bothered us more is that she did not take the time to even ask if we wanted to get a refill. We had to ask another server if they could bring us more drinks bc the one we had did not even ask. I honestly would have prefer to give the $22 tip to the other server who actually ask if we were ok than to her. I called the restaurant and ask about the gratuity being charged even if the service was bad and in short words what the lady in charged said is that there was nothing they could do and that the tip was going to the server whether i...
Read moreJust dont.. stopping by for one night stay in Houston. Son’s birthday wanted Mexican food. Googled places and read tons of reviews of why to eat here. Where do I start - how about why to not eat here... you get 1 tiny bowl of salsa (very watery) per table. 1 half filled basket of very hard cooked chips. Had to ask for cheese sauce and more chips. To describe cheese sauce- fake maybe a Velveeta cheese imitation.. Had to ask for the homemade tortillas. Was brought 3 there was 3 of us. Then asked for butter. Was brought Parkay bottle. Fake butter. Food was ok at best and oh yea- it is brought out 1 by 1 when ready. Nothing like half of us eating while the other sits there waiting to eat. Then sat there sometime after done eating waiting on our check....finally got up to go to counter ourselves... maybe this is the norm... we had no idea. The waitress barley understood us when ordering. Ok checked out and found out why you had to ask for stuff. Cheese sauce cost extra and tortillas cost extra. So be warned a big no...
