Two terrible recent experiences at Bona Fide Juicery in Howard, WI. Three weeks ago, I went with my family for the second time and politely asked the cashier if they had any rewards program (where you accumulate visits for a freebie). Since we enjoyed our previous visit and planned to return, we wanted to know what kind of rewards they offered. However, the cashier responded with a long face and a terrible attitude, bluntly saying there was no way to earn rewards through visits. Her demeanor was curt and it seemed like she didn't want to be there. When we left, we noticed a sign by the door on the trash bins explaining exactly how the rewards work, and we were left wondering, what the hell, why couldn't she have told us that with a nicer attitude? Okay, we let it slide...
Today, I returned with my 4-year-old son because he wanted a smoothie. I had a coupon on the back of a Woodmans purchase receipt for $2 OFF any purchase. I ordered the smoothie for my excited son, but to my surprise, NONE of the three employees knew how to apply a $2 OFF coupon to a smoothie. Is this for real? The worst part that really angered me was the attitude of the last employee I spoke with. She initially said it couldn't be done, even though I had used a similar coupon before. I told her, "No, it has been done before." And she replied, "Right, they have done it before." Then she just aimlessly tapped on the iPad pretending to figure it out, but it was clear she wasn't trying and had a bad attitude and face towards me. Finally, she said, "I can't do it, I need a manager and there isn't one available." Excuse me?! What kind of business advertises coupons in a large supermarket like Woodmans without training their employees how to apply them on an iPad?? There were about 5 or 6 people in total and no one did anything; the employee didn't even offer to make up for her inefficiencyâshe could have offered it to us for free. After spending time, gas, and enduring bad attitude... it was the least she could have done.
Instead of offering a solution to the problem, all the employees just stared at us with their long faces, as if they expected me to pay full price for the smoothie. Sorry, but a poorly running business won't be getting my money. I won't be coming back and I'm going to tell everyone about my experience. What a disappointment. Girls, you work at a place making smoothies, stop being snobby, get down to earth and offer good...
Read moreEven though it's always been pricey, I used to really enjoy Bona Fide, but with the slow customer service and poor order accuracy, I'm unlikely to keep coming back.
Not too long ago, ordering online meant you could pick up your order in about 20 minutes, but now it's 30-45 minutes. And when ordering in store, you get the pleasure of watching the workers move at a glacial pace with no urgency for waiting customers and a clear dissatisfaction with actually having to do work.
I stopped ordering smoothies all together because it's clear they frequently use unripe/green bananas, which gives the smoothie a bad, chunky taste.
This last visit I ordered a smoothie bowl that did not contain animal products (honey, etc.), and I requested no coconut topping. Unfortunately, I picked up my order and made the mistake of not checking it before driving back home. Not only did it have coconut on it, but for some reason they added honey.
I can deal with expensive prices and rude customer service, but bad food and an inability to get basic orders...
Read moreMy first time at Bona Fide was a week ago. I went with a friend who loves it and that was my first time trying a bowl! It was such a great experience. The store was so clean, everyone was so friendly from the second you walked in the door. I had no idea what it was, how to order and the staff answered all my questions patiently! Then it was cool to watch them prepare it. Joining the rewards program was simple, and even purchasing other items like their amazing granola was easy breezy. The bowl was fantastic! I have been back already and plan on going today again! The bowl is like a a meal, yet a dessert, yet a breakfast, yet lunch, yet a snack, either way the flavor in every bite and the...
