Gabriela's Mexican Cocina — Restaurant in Howe

So i don't like to eat mexican food. Hear me out now- nothing compares to my mom's cooking so cheap imitation is just homesick fuel for me. Ma is from Jalisco, and her food could make angels weep. I can't stand "authentic flavors" because of someone needs to label something as real they're already trying too hard to convince you. Taco bell holds more joy because heck that's like only mexican in theory. I was set for sadness when i went in but i heard they had lengua and i just can't help my masochistic self sometimes. OH. MI. GAWD. All i had to do was close my eyes and i could almost hear my mom asking if maybe i wanted something better like an American burger or something. SHES NUTS, I LIVE FOR HER FOOD AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY TIED HER UP IN THEIR KITCHEN WITHOUT ME KNOWING!!!!! Those beans were slooooow cooked and refried RIGHT. And the lengua? Im still dreaming of it. No joke. I thought i was gonna have a heart attack when the waiter asked if i wanted green salsa, then handed me a squirt bottle. YES AND GIVE ME A STRAW TOO KID THERES A HAPPY FATTY IN THE HOUSE! Fresh, amazing, hours of prep you can taste ready to nurture your sad sad soul back to your happiest childhood moments.... Back to the review. I ordered kids meals and the boys had plenty, i didn't get reemed for sharing plates. Reasonably priced. Plenty of seating, very clean eating area and restroom, which had a baby changer. Ramp to the bathroom senior friendly. Terrible parking. Easy small town...

This is our third time ordering from this restaurant and let's just say we are pretty satisfied with the food so far. The tamales are a bit small but the food has flavor and portions are enough to get you full. We order to-go, but when we go inside to order, the restaurant appears clean and decent. It's not crowded and staff wear masks. The staff are always friendly and the cook(s) are awesome. As usual the food and the service was out standing. I was raised in San Antonio and Mexican food there is a staple. But I am as pleased with everything here or even more so than if I was back in the city of my raising.
