Day Break Donuts — Restaurant in Hughes Springs

My husband went in this morning and got a large kolache. He paid with a ten that he had received when he cashed a $10.00 check at the bank. The kolache total was $2.50. She gave him $2.50 in change. When he mentioned that he had given her a ten, she told him that no, he had given her a five. She went back to speak to someone else and look at the camera. When she came back she said, look you paid with a five, as she was looking at the camera but did not turn it around to show him. We were snowed in during the bad storm in February 2021 couldn’t get our car out of the driveway and needed water had to walk everywhere they sold us a huge 40 pack of bottle waters for $8 even though they don’t normally sell them by the case and could have charged us anything they wanted(and we would have gladly paid it) and they let us take a break from walking to sit down even though they were trying to close up to get home themselves. Always a treat to visit and be greeted with a genuine smile and be given what I like......blueberry donuts! (unless they are sold out!!! I have tried other baked (fried?) foods and found same quality. Not the most picture perfect shop due to it's small size, but there is a small selection of plants on West side window sill and a big choice of beverages....
