Let me start by saying, food was good (average, at best), and service was quick.
Now for the rest. On the table, was a QR Code to scan, and see their menu. So we scanned it, on their menu, is a big a** picture of waffles, that looked really good. So we looked iver the menu. And NO waffles are listed?? So, when waitress (I believe to be the owner, because of the way she answered my question) came over, I asked, "On your menu, you have a picture of waffles, but there are no waffles listed on menu??? She said, "(I) don't have waffles! Only on chicken & waffle night!" She got us our coffee's...to which, I asked for milk for the coffee's, instead of the little creamers (to which I do, everywhere I go)... She brought our coffee"s, and a pourable container of milk. When we looked at the regular menu, add on, add on, add on!!! $12 for a regular, eggs, sausage, and toast (and possibly potatoes, I forget) ....Wanna change sausage for bacon Add on $2. Want a side of bacon? Add on $6. Etc.....
So I ordered a cheese omelet ($4..not bad), and boyfriend ordered western omelet ($7... Still not terrible) Food was average, not the worst I've had.
While sitting there, we looked at the decorations on the wall.....don't think they can make up their mind?? There was movie memorabilia, local school memorabilia, metal signs, hubcaps, lunchboxes, etc.. 🤯....
Then we got the bill, 🤯🤯🤯🤯....(🤬Add on🤬) They charged extra $$$ for the milk, for the coffee????! THAT ticked me off, something fierce!!! Who charges for milk, for your coffee??? I don't think I've EVER been charged for milk, unless I was drinking a glass of it. Which it was clearly for coffee, because she brought it in a pourable container!!
Needless to say, I...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came to Kathy's Cafe after our AirBnB host highly recommended it. When we arrived it was relatively busy, so we expected to wait a bit. However, all of the floor staff had made eye contact with us at least one time and then averted their gaze without acknowledgement.
When we were seated our waitress was friendly and we felt a bit more welcomed. However, the food we were given was not nearly as advertised and overpriced. I ordered the house scromlet and was surprised at the presentation and taste. It was extremely salty and the cheese slices didn't help. My boyfriend order eggs, a sausage and potatoes and again was disappointed. Everything was overcooked to the point where the sausage was black on one side. We had left a lot of our food uneaten when our server came back and her tone had shifted. Unfortunately she seemed disappointed and quickly walked away after asking how things were. We were then handed the bill. I was hoping to grab a glass of water but the staff had made a point by avoiding us that we were done being served.
We were excited to experience this cafe with what we had heard about it and love supporting local businesses however, if we're in the area again we will be looking elsewhere...
Read moreDecor is dated a little and needs updated. They had like a 50/60’s theme but some of the decorations looked as if they got them out of the trash. Tables and chairs didn’t match and I feared that if I sneezed on our table it would have fallen apart. My wife and I joked that we could lazy Suzan our food with our table and take turns eating from each other’s plate.
Food is adequately priced if not a little more in the higher end for what you get. We ordered two burgers and they were cooked to specifications. Good flavor and seasoning. Food was delicious. Totally didn’t care about the decor after taking a bite or two from my burger.
This place was busy on a Tuesday non stop while we were there. Once 2-4 tables would leave they were almost immediately replaced by new people. We will try again...
