Bamboo House — Restaurant in Humble

When Bamboo House Humble first opened I was very impressed with the quality of food, especially the cream cheese crab wontons. They were perfect! Now the quality and customer service has gone down hill, which is super disappointing. I was so happy when this place opened and very let down it changed for the worse so quickly. After opening we were repeat customers, sometimes dining or ordering to go 3 times a week. Each time we order the cream cheese crab wontons. The last 3 times we did to go orders they keep putting less and less cream cheese in them. I called and asked and the manager told me the "customers were complaining that they were not well done, so they started to put less cream cheese and crab in them so they would be cooked more well done." I was disappointed but I said ok, next time I order I will ask for more cream cheese and crab in my wontons (the same as it was when Bamboo House first opened). Well I called again today to place my regular to go order and asked the manager over the phone to please put more cream cheese in the wonton, he then told me "we can't put more because they are already made."

So first he said customers complained it's not well done and that they changed it and now he says they are pre-made wontons and so they cant add or remove anything. I don't feel like he is being truthful and I feel like they are decreasing the quality/amount of food to save money and increase profits. I would GLADLY pay a higher price for the wontons if they put a fair amount in it. I want quality food (even if it cost more). Stop trying to mislead the customer and be honest. You just lost a customer who was spending $200 a week at your restaurant. I will go somewhere else now and I am very disappointed to have to do that because I LOVED...

I can't believed that I could have authentic Peking roast duck in North East Houston area!

The owner was from the northeast of China, and he has 30 yrs master chef experience in China!

Not only the dishes are delicious, the price is more real, and the amount is amazing!

Each dish volume is 1.5 times more than average restaurant!

Friends who living in the Northwest Houston area is worth to try!

I suggest that have more people come along. Then you could try more dishes!

Recommended dishes:

Beijing Roast Duck (Beijing small Eyed breed Duck) Now 25% off before end 10/31/2018

Belt noodles (hand made noodles w delicious sauce)

Lion head casserole (meatballs are well mix blend and tasty)

Couple lungs (extra beef tongue, and stomach and shank slices, tasty and stimulating )

Boiled fish (wow! That spice expoled in your mouth)

Only above dishes already good for 6-8 people.

Other then above recommendations, there are so many dishes that I have not been eaten yet!

I placed an order for this evening and my experience was okay. I mistakenly ordered the chinese stir fry vegetables assuming that a choice of protein would be included or that I could add some to it, but when I went inside to ask they said no. When I asked if I could change my order instead the lady at the desk inside said no because the stir fry was already made, which confused me because I was only 2 minutes away when I called it in.

I looked through the menu again seeing if I could get a dish of something to add to the veggies but the order was already $14.95 and whatever the total would be seemed excessive for what I wanted to have; meat and rice and maybe some veggies.

I asked her if she was sure that there was no way I could change my order and she went in the back to double check, she came back asking what I wanted and I ordered the spicy and crispy chicken. Then she asked if I was sure which rubbed me the wrong way, although I doubt it was intentional. I get I ordered the wrong thing but people mess up all the time and immediately saying no to me the first time I asked to reorder didn’t help.

The chicken was mostly tough and dry and even with sauce added to it, it was hard to chew. I’m gonna see what else I can do to fix the chicken but at least the rice was perfect. I’m not the only one to comment about the chicken being dry so maybe it’s just the way they make it. I’ve ordered here before and didn’t like the flavor that time either, so I don’t see...
