Me and my husband decided that we wanted to bring the kids out for a good night of fun bowling and eating, only for it to turn out to be a night from hell. The young man at check in was very helpful and when it came down to getting booked for bowling for 8pm. As we make our was to the dinning area, we noticed there is no one there to seat or greet us. So I went and found someone to come help seat us. Someone finally come to seat us. We sat and waited for a while. We watch people walk pass our table and not say anything. So we decided we was just gone leave the dining area and not worry bout it(we was irritated because this happens every time). But as we are packing up to leave the waiter come over and say how can I help you? (Side not the waiter was trying to attend her daughter that she brought to work with her, so her attention was not on her job) my husband said it we’re leaving and processed to pick up out one yrs old son and said this happens every time we come here. The waiter proceeded to get sarcastic and say well, he tell her well I’m Not talking to you leave me alone. She proceed to say who you talking too and walk towards him. No one is going to allow anyone to walk up on them. He tell her to get out his face, as this going on another worker runs over and tell my husband to chill out BRO. I informed him you don’t even know what going on, you should be defusing the situation. So finally Michael come over and walk with us out over to the bowling area (he was really try to help us, remember he is a manager in training). As we sitting there waiting for our bowling lane The manager Carlos comes over and say we’re gonna have to ask you to leave. And my husband says for what we didn’t do anything wrong he said because you are a threat to my employees. And my husband stated your employees walked up and ran up on me and my family. But instead of you trying to diffuse or make a resolution for the issue, you came to make me the problem. Not one time did you ask me what happened? How could you help or what could be done to make me and my family feel safe. Carlos goes to say We were taught to believe our employees over the customer. Then say where is your receipt so I can give you a refund. So we asked for a General Manager Which she never came. Then he says I don’t even have to give y’all a refund. So he said he walks off and says he’s going to call the cops. So all this is going on Michael is over there trying to help us and let us know that. Yes the employee was wrong. She had every opportunity to walk She choose to argue back-and-forth with the customer and it will be handled. Then they send over A lady named Christina she was very nice. She was very understanding. She sat and listen to what we had to say and understood where we were coming. We all came to an understanding and she helped us get us our refund And assured us that the situation will be handled. Even though Michael and Christina was managers in training. They did a whole lot better than the manager And the general manager that was there that night. I feel that Carlos do not need to be manager because yes, your customers is supposed to be right. You’re not supposed to make them feel like they’re the problem you’re supposed to be there to solve the problem And if your problem is your employee, you need to handle, the employee had already stepped away from the situation. I will now only go to Event in...
Read moreWe brought our kids here today for our oldest’s birthday, there were four of us total. We did the “everything” pass which seemed like the best deal overall. The facility is nice, seems new, is well decorated, and mostly clean. It was not crowded when we went.
First we bowled. There was hardly anyone there which was nice, maybe 6 families total. We wanted to order food but were told “there’s no server here today” so my husband went to the bar and tried to order while we got started bowling. After waiting for more than ten minutes for the bartender to acknowledge him, he gave up and went looking for help from other staff. Other staff told us to “go order from the bar.”🤦♀️ Finally someone pointed out a server to me, and after chasing him down, was told by him “oh, I’m not for your section, sorry.” Awesome. Even though it took over twenty minutes to deal with this fiasco, the food was pretty good once it finally arrived.
Then for some reason the bowling attendant sent a party of 5 to share our lane section with us, when there were still easily 8-10 lanes completely unoccupied. So now there’s NINE people occupying this pair of lanes when the entire bowling alley was 80% empty. Make it make sense. These people clearly had never been bowling before because they kept taking our balls, sitting in our section, and standing, chatting, and taking selfies in the middle of our lane. I would have loved to address this with them personally but unfortunately I do not speak fluent Spanish so it was what it was. It was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary, so we finished our game and went to do something else.
We decided to try laser tag next but there was no attendant. So again my husband went in search of employees. Once he found someone to help us, we had a fun time playing.
After that we went to the gravity ropes course where again there were no employees. Off husband goes once more in search of anyone to help us. When he finds someone they tell us our teen is going to have to wait for an appointment in 45 minutes (even though there was literally no one else waiting🤷♀️) Fine. We decided to play arcade games while we waited.
Once we returned to the gravity ropes for our appointment, we waited about ten minutes for the guy to show up. He never did. My poor sweet, patient husband was off again to find someone to help our birthday kiddo. He finally located someone new to help us and got things moving.
It’s amazing to me to come to a place that advertises all these activities, activities that we paid to do, only to hardly get to do them. What is going on up there? No one in the building seemed to know. Or care. I cannot say enough bad things about the service, and it was not even a little bit crowded. Overall, we probably spent about $300 there today and I’m trying not to dwell on what other, more satisfying experience we could have scheduled today instead, for that money. Lesson learned. I don’t know if all Main Events are like this, but I’m probably not going to try...
Read moreSo on June 22nd I was recommended to take my 6 year old son to Main Event and was excited to go. My plan was to sit down, have lunch and then allow my son to have the best of fun with all of the games. That didn't happen. When we first walked in, we went to the restaurant, there was a sign displayed that said "wait for host to be seated" we waited and waited, saw employees walked by and no one approached us. After a while nearly 10mins of waiting (could've been more) I finally just flagged an employee down and asked him do we just go to a table and he answered yes, have a seat anywhere you like and someone will come to you. That was strike one for me because there are so many signs stating that we must wait to be seated. Once greeted, the server didn't crack a smile, she was simply BLAH, no enthusiasm. I was annoyed with her demeanor. It just wasn't given Welcome to Main Event!! It was Blah. After ordering and receiving our food. She never came back to us whatsoever to see if we liked the food or wanted to order anything else. The ketchup bottle on the table was empty, I fought for my life trying to get the ketchup out but I made it work. I received better service at Chi Fi La.
Once done with our food, we went directly to the kiosk to pay for the activities, I seeked helped from one of the employees who confused me from beginning to the end. I told her we just wanted to play in the arcade and from there I paid for yesterday's deal. We ended up getting a wrist band. So I asked the employee to come back over so she can explain to me how to play/start the games with a wrist band. She clearly didn't know what she was talking about but directed us to go to the gift shop to get a card.
Now we are at the gift shop, we get the game card and go to the first game machine (the duck machine) We swiped the card one time, the game didn't start, swiped it again and it still didn't work but I noticed we were losing credits. So we go right back to the gift shop and explained to the employee what happened. The employee fixed the machine and gave us our credit back. From there, we went to the crossing roads game and THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WE SWIPED THE CARD 2XS lost credit and the game didn't work. At this point, I went back to the gift shop and asked for a refund. The manager came I explained to him what happened he gave me a refund first THEN apologized for everything that happened.
All in all, I didn't feel valued. The manager at no point seemed interested in what I had to say. I just stated to him what happened and he proceeded to give me the refund then apologized. At no point did he seemed interested in finding out who misinformed me at the kiosk or which games were not working properly.
I'm big on my customer service. I'll take Chi Fi LA over Main event anyday. This was my experience and it was poor. I don't doubt that others have good experience. My brother recommended me tk go because he took his kids go one of the...
