Let me start by saying that Dave (the owner) is a natural salesman. It's very obvious from the second you meet him just how important it is to him to make a good impression on each and every customer that comes through the door. Early in the day I called to confirm my reservation time. It was outside of regular business hours, but within minutes Dave returned my call personally from his cell phone. This was our first experience at 1762 and we could tell immediately that things operated a little differently. Everyone in the restaurant worked flawlessly as a team. The waitress and bartender alternated back and forth checking on us and making suggestions. Dave spent the entire time walking around and speaking to guests, as well as assisting his team with taking orders, making drinks and wiping down the bar. Every guest had their entrée hand delivered by the chef. This was top notch service! But if that wasn't impressive enough the food and drinks took it to the next level. We each tried a few drinks from the menu and they were perfectly mixed. I recommend the fireside punch. For our appetizer the bartender suggested the spicy sausage or street corn dip. We went with the street corn dip and were not disappointed. For our entrées we kept it cheap and simple. We had the wagyu cheese steak and the 62 burger. And because we knew that the seafood was fresh we decided to share a crabcake. I can't explain to you just how fresh everything tasted. I can honestly say that my burger was probably the best burger that I have ever eaten. But the crab cake was even better. Something about the red pepper gave the crab cake such good flavor that tartar sauce wasn't necessary. We were very full after our meal and opted to skip dessert. However, everything on the dessert menu sounded great. After our meal Dave checked back in with us and held the door for us on our way out. For anyone in the area looking for an amazing dining experience, this is the place. Stop in and meet Dave and the team. Thank you for the...
Read moreGreat quiet evening dinner, with upscale flavors. It helped that it was Super Bowl and a slow night for the restaurant, but service was great, food was perfectly cooked, and atmosphere was relaxing.
The 1762 fries are amazing, as is the 62 burger - complex and enjoyable flavors you just have to try. The crab cake sandwich was fresh and well made (could have used slightly more seasoning for our pref). Chicken was outstanding. Sear and cook on the salmon was perfect. Sides were also very tasty- carrots, Brussels, and orzo were delicious. (Only....and seriously the ONLY negative was the dressing on the Ceaser salad, a little too thick and tasted like an inexpensive bottled dressing.)
Deserts were also delicious. Carrot cake was flavorful, cheesecake was yummy with raspberry and caramel drizzle, chocolate cake with raspberry drizzle was very good and ultimate chocolate fudge cake was decadent. (Would recommend a more whipped icing or a more bitter chocolate to offset the heavy sweet of the icing for the chocolate cake.)
Desiree was our server and she did a fantastic job of helping us choose our meals (first time visitors). Emma the hostess ensured we had a great location for a party of 7 celebrating a birthday. This new ownership, the renovations, and the selections for the menu are far superior to what was in the Warwick building previously.
Prices were on par with upscale dining, in this economy, ranging from $17-29 on entrees, and about $9 on deserts. Highly recommend for special occasions, or if it's in your budget, a go to...
Read moreNew in town from Arizona and just relocated to the Area. Stopped at this restaurant to have a nice dinner to my surprise I was very disappointed. I came in me and my boyfriend and was pretty hungry from being pretty busy all day. He ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the prime rib special. Our dinners came his was perfectly cooked medium rare, my prime rib looked like a steak well done, the waiter took it back to be recooked came back again well done apparently they don't know how to serve prime rib, when I ordered medium rare, ,but the insulting part is that I sat there, while my boyfriend ate his and waited for mine. Then mine came again ( I was starving ) so I ate it, and they took off $10. 10 lousy dollars! Manager never came over to explain or say sorry for waiting forever for my food and it being wrong twice or any other communication or comment good customer service you will definitely not get at this place!!!!! The waiter said sorry, but not the same when management doesn't come he stated the manager said I could take some money off. wow. Will never recommend this place again to anyone, nor will I ever come back was quite expensive for the meal that you got anyway, and was completely awful. What a disappointment! Me and my boyfriend, go to a lot of restaurants, for that's what we do, we are foodies and I can guarantee you this restaurant will not serve you a good meal if that's what you're looking for!!! And absolutely horrible...
