Kosei Teki Sushi (Asian Takeout) — Restaurant in Huntersville

I think three stars for this place is more than fair, and 4 stars is too generous, but I am more inclined to be forgiving than punitive.

I ordered the $8.99 lunch special with $1 tip, so total was just north of $10 for fast Asian cuisine. I ordered to go, because I was on the run, but having now been inside, there is no way I would stay to dine-in.

The layer, and I mean LAYER of grime on everything is disgusting. As I waited for my order, I kept telling myself that this food was going to be amazing for the price, because they focus all their energy in the kitchen and none to the cleanliness or maintenance of their restaurant. Which matches the same level of appearances as the dump of a 7-Eleven that is attached.

But alas, the food was average to below average, and the to-go containers are shrunken in size and the portion pockets for the entree’ are smaller with an expanded space for steamed or fried rice. I ordered steamed rice because I like it, and I have grown accustomed to fast Chinese places not providing real fried rice anymore, so I can’t speak to any failures there. As for the entree, nothing good enough to call me back to give this place another try. I would rather never go back inside. Oh, and to add insult to injury, I just bit into a very stale fortune cookie. (How is that possible, I do not know, so I updated my stars for this review from 4...

My husband and his work crew eats there like 3 times a week on his lunch break!! They spend a substantial amount of money there a week and it’ was very convenient and the food wasn’t bad!! He went in there today on his lunch break today and they said it would be a little longer so they walked next door to get a drink while they waited!! When they came back into eat the guy came out cussing and yelling at them bc they had brought there drinks in and was telling them they had to leave and couldn’t come back all bc of a soda that they don’t serve let me put that out there!! He could have went about it a different way for sure!!! And honestly I don’t see what it hurt to bring there drinks in that that purchased next door only bc they had to wait 30 min for there food!! I don’t see why it mattered bc like I said they spend a good bit of money there each week!! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who is wanting good customer service bc this sure ain’t the place!! Even though the prices are a bit high they still ate there no complaints!! Now there not allowed back there and I find that disappointing and very disrespectful!! You just don’t treat good customers or people like that...

The lady at the counter took my money and over charged me for what I clearly ordered. I ordered THE LUNCH SPECIAL! After I told them they over charged me... the cook behind the counter tells me I don't need to order what I oelrderd.... that I need more food! Thats why they charged me more! Are you kidding me. I will be calling managment... the bad thing is that is probably the manager. I have never seen anything like this or had this happen here in America. Wow. This place should be shut down for trying to taking people's money. The cook is in here yelling at other customers as I type this. Wow.

I even attached a photo of the menu. I was charged $21.16 for a 9.64 meal I clearly asked for at the counter.

Stay away from this horrible place guys.
