I really enjoyed playing the course lately. As of fall 2025 I think it’s been in great shape. Wish I would have looked into memberships earlier before they filled up.
Even though it’s a little more expensive, the driving range has been really fun to go to with the family. My only complaint is some of the kids that come out there and the language they use, especially when they see younger children around. It’s very inappropriate. Not really much the course can do about it but just a warning if you’re taking the family out.
It’s also been nice playing this course as a single. I’ve been paired up with a lot of different members and have enjoyed my time with all of them. The course doesn’t feel overplayed like some of the other local courses.
it’s also nice having some good menu options to order at the turn for lunch. Not that I typically get snacks on the course but I see the cart many times while playing. Other courses I’m lucky to see the cart one time but I typically see them 3 to 4 times a round.
My only complaint, it would be really nice if you were able to hit off of the grass at the driving range before your tee time. Unfortunately it’s reserved for...
Read moreA friend and I played this course over the weekend. To be honest, it looked nice from the outside, but for a $30 green free, I was genuinely disappointed by a play-ability of the course. For instance, the rough on either side of most fairways was so thick and tall that if you didn't hit your tee shot into the fairway, there was a good chance you would not be able to find your ball in the rough on any hole. I shuffled my feet through some rough close to the tee box on hole 10 and found at least 3 golf balls that were impossible to see otherwise. Many of the fairways were also covered with what looked like bird droppings and what we could only assume were clods of cut grass. I think we took the biggest issue with the condition of the greens. Nearly all of the greens were more dirt than they were grass; causing the greens to play surprisingly fast, only for the ball to come to a standstill when it hit what was essentially mud. That being said, I do not want to sling mug or besmirch the name of this course. I simply want to express my displeasure with the state of the grounds and the seemingly high price that I paid for a round of golf on a course in such a...
Read moreAbsolute disappointment! This was one of my favorite courses years ago but recently the price has exceeded my budget. Today I decided to take a chance regardless of price but to my surprise the conditions were average at best... Not what I would expect paying the above average price of $90. Maybe I am out of touch with the reality of golf pricing these days, but there are courses in much better condition for $20-40 less right now. The greens are fast but the speed is overshadowed by the bare spots that create an uneven putting surface on every green. Add in the bare spots in the fairways in high traffic areas and it just spells disappointing. I had extremely high hopes of a spectacular day returning to a beloved course that I haven't played in 7 or 8 years expecting pristine playing conditions based on recent reviews. Safe to say that wasn't the case and all four players from my group have deleted Skybrook from our list of courses to return to....
