This is my first time ordering papa John’s in years. I placed an order online today and called the restaurant to add an additional item to my order. After waiting an hour and half I decided to call the store for updates on my order. I was told that the driver came out but that I didn’t answer. I explained to the manager that I’ve been waiting in my living room this whole time. She then stated that drivers call first and if the customer doesn’t answer the phone they don’t come to the door. I asked her why, she said because if we don’t answer the phone first there’s no way for the driver to know if they’re delivering the pizza to the right house. I told her that didn’t make sense, being that you have an address. And you can verify that the moment the customer opens the door. Valerie was beyond rude, I’ve never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. She said she could send out the same cold order that had been sitting at the store or she could void the credit card charge. I was so appalled by her tone and aggressiveness that I told her to void it. And when I said I needed an email confirmation she hung up on me. I called back and asked her if we got disconnected or she hung up, she said she hung up. When I asked her why she would do that, she said she had orders to take and didn’t have time for this conversation. She said if I needed further verification I could drive over to the store tomorrow, and ask the other manager for a receipt. I placed the same order online, and it was taking it with extra topping. I know it is more money and I don't mind paying for more. I spoke to the assistant manager in charge at the time, and boy, she was rude. Papa John's doesn't have any checks and balances in place. I filed a complaint with the corporate office that referred it to the franchise. I received an email with the managers number and an apology. The manager wanted to talk to me, but it was just a lie.
