Taco John's — Restaurant in Huntington

This is one of the only locations close to me after having fallen in love with this chain over a decade ago upon moving to Indiana. You come for the potato oles, and pretty much nothing else like me too, right? Rrrrright!

The potato oles were super crispy and super seasoned and honestly were so perfect. The cheese sauce comes in a hefty container so you have plenty for dipping. My fave item is the grilled stuffed taco, and it was meh this time around. I also tried the spicy steak and potato grilled, while the sirloin tasted fine, the potatoes were too soft and the tortilla was super folded over and very thick in many sections. My husband had the new chicken nacho burrito and it was utterly disgusting looking -- there were two pieces of chicken in there with a boatload of sauce and a few nacho pieces. The beef griller he tried was very good he said, just bad execution on making the chicken version.

We ordered through drive thru at 10:25PM. If you tried going to fast food restaurants 30 minutes before their Google Maps closing time, you know that they might not take orders or just be closed. To my surprise, they took our order, and the drive thru clerk was extremely friendly and patient. The food came out quickly and quality was also on point, everything made to perfection as ordered, all modifications followed correctly. Super friendly and helpful staff, even asked us to let them know if the lemonade is too sweet, so they can remake it. Best service I've ever received from a fast food chain, these gentlemen are the EXAMPLE of a 5 star service. 100% recommend. What a great first experience eating here. We came on taco Tuesday when the tacos are $1.39 ($1.89 for soft shell). The tacos were stuffed full and fresh, shell was crispy and insides were cold and hot appropriately. We got a side of beans which was hot and covered in cheese with taco sauce and a chicken fajita burrito share. The flavor on the burrito was awesome but the filling was only chicken, tortilla pieces and a slightly orange cheese sauce. It wasn't much to look at but had me coming back for a few more bites. We could barely finish our portion and plan to definitely come back. Next time I will add pics before I scarf it down!
