The Country Post — Restaurant in Huntington

I was always told to be polite and professional while writing a review for a restaurant. So, here it is. The Country Post Restaurant used to be one of the best restaurants to take your family for a delicious cooked meal in Huntington.. People from all over would stop by just to enjoy their fine food and courteous wait staff! They have been sold since then and the wait staff and kitchen help has come and gone. On this particular day we stopped to enjoy a meal. There was nothing in particular to celebrate...we were met by the happiest hostess that wore a beautiful smile. She sat us in a fairly empty area and brought us our drinks and menus...it went downhill very fast but we were enjoying our conversation with each other when we noticed 4 or 5 tables were filled with customers and some already had their food??? Our waitress finally came to get our order and we waited some more until I finally asked her where our food were.. at that point she raised her arms and shouted "it's cooking" shocked at her response we saw her going to the food window to inquire about our order and then she went back to the computer to resubmit our order...she finally brought out and overcooked BLT sandwich and a very dry Patty Melt with no cheese...the hamburger was very dry and bacon has hardened...while they sat too long under the heat lamps by the pick up window! Great staff,great restraunt,great food,great atmosphere, amazing cooks,amazing everything.The beef Manhatten is the best I have ever had. Man oh man was that good. That roast beef was so thin n soft. Lol I was in heaven. Didn't even have to use a knife,the fork just crumbled it. My husband said his burger n frys were amazing. Thick juicy burger. Didn't even have to salt the fry's. We went out for our 10th year anniversary to lunch. The Country Post in Huntington is so amazing. Our waitress has been there for many many years and she was so sweet and on top of everything even little extra things,she calls herself "R", Best waitress we have ever had n we have had lots of them. Their food n service is out of this world. One of the top 4 best places we have ever eatin at. The food is all home made. Everything was amazing n that home made White mac n cheese n creamy coleslaw,man oh man. You get a lot of food. Deff a good anniversary meal. 🥰🥰🙃🤤🤤It's so homey vibes to. Our favorite place to go. I am only giving this restaurant 2 stars because of their good service; otherwise it would be 1 star. My wife and I were visiting our children who took us here because they had broasted chicken a search showed and were close by. We love Indiana broasted chicken since broasted chicken is hard to find in Florida and Colorado where we have residences. This was absolutely the worst brasted chicken we have ever eaten and trust me we did not finish it. The breasts were so tough that they could hardly be chewed and the breading had absolutely no flavor at all except for the oil they use in the fryer. The breading had no seasoning that we could taste. They must get the chicken from retirement farms for aged chicken and the cooks have no idea what spices are. Avoid this place! The salad lettuce was a bag mix, watery and had a thin slice of tomato added to it. The young waitresses were very good and efficient. The baked potato was served wrapped in foil, was cooked but the skin was soft and not crisp at all due to staying in foil far too long. A true...
