Blessed Little Kitchen — Restaurant in Huntley

I recently visited Blessed Little Kitchen to pick up pies for Thanksgiving. It was late in the day, close to closing time, when I stopped in. While the baked goods are undeniably lovely, my experience with the customer service left me feeling disappointed.

When I entered, all the staff were busy packing cookies, and I didn’t receive a greeting until I made an effort to get their attention. It would have been nice to feel more welcomed, especially since I knew exactly what I wanted and was ready to place my order. Eventually, I did get assistance, but the interaction felt a bit awkward and impersonal.

I had planned to purchase two pies for the holiday along with additional treats for my team at work, but the process of ordering was so uncomfortable and poor that I decided to stick to just the pies. When I asked for specific flavors, there seemed to be some confusion about the products, which added to my frustration. While I understand everyone has busy days, a little more attentiveness and product knowledge would have made a big difference.

Additionally, I’ve noticed a pattern on the business's social media where the owner tends to respond to critical feedback with posts that come across as defensive or unprofessional. While I appreciate that running a small business is challenging, dismissing or complaining about customer feedback in public forums does not reflect well on the brand. A good business owner would take the high road and NOT respond. I hope the owner considers the impact of customer interactions—both in-store and online—on her business. The Huntley community is so lucky to have this bakery!! We needed some cakes for a wedding/anniversary party and decided to head over to Blessed Little Kitchen. We wanted to stay local and I had heard good things about this place so we went for it. Upon arrival we dealt with the owner on the ordering and design process. She was right down to business and helped us make the right decisions. A few weeks later the big day came. I stopped in to pick up the cakes and was amazed. The decorating job that they did was over the top. Once we brought them to the party and put them on display our guests complimented us on the nice looking cakes that they had designed for us. So lets fast forward to the eating part! These two different cakes were delicious. I could not have been happier with what they did for us. During the event and even after the event people complimented us on the cakes. Honestly when I go to some sort of function where you have cake its usually nothing special. We were just very surprised at how good they were. One of the cakes was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The other was a marble cake with a french silk filling. I will definitely use Blessed Little Kitchen in the future and recommended them as well. We will be stopping by the place from time to time to get our fix as well!! We have been going to Blessed Little Kitchen for 3 1/2 almost 4 years now. She is the absolute best bakery around. She puts her heart and soul into everything she bakes, and did I mention that everything tastes amazing!?!? We’ve used her for all sorts of events, baptism, announcing our pregnancy, easter, Fourth of July, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, nurses and doctors appreciation week, gifts for teachers and coaches, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. Anything you can think of you can use her amazing delicious treats for that occasion. Every time we throw a party her delicious yumminess is our crowd pleaser! We have never once had a bad experience! Mary the owner of Blessed Little Kitchen is the sweetest most kind and loving owner of any business that I have ever met.
