I wish I had thought to put my glasses on and catch this employee's name but she really made my mother/daughter lunch special today. It's the little things. I use to work at Dairy Queen and loved it immensely. I was front cash/ice cream wench and assistant cake decorator but not in the official capacity because assistants cake decorators do not exist :P
Remember, it's the little things and this was the little thing. Our lovely server was vocally communicating with her team the moment she stepped on the floor. Every customer in the store knew they were being considered in that moment. We had ordered two small cotton candy blizzards to go with our meal and in true DQ style she comes to the table with them and flips one right upside down! I loved it!
It's Mother's Day about noon-thirty or so which means not only is it a church day (church folks LOVE Dairy Queen!!) but it's also a holiday so they were a little busy but not too bad.
I appreciate the team. The chicken tenders and fries were rough though guys. My kid and I giggled at our silly jokes because of how hard the fries were cooked (there's no fry left.....just some french........no harm meant but it was funny). The ONLY reason they weren't the best fries I've ever had because I actually do prefer them fried into golden light sabers of emptiness is because I'm at that point of getting dentures like RIGHT BEFORE you get them, you know. LOL.
Still a 5 star experience simply because of that one employee who made sure they could be heard by their team which really is a confidence builder with the guests every time. I will never be mad at food that could have been cooked better when the experience is as golden as ours was today.
THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK! Thank you DQ for being everything I remember about it from my work days there. Happy Mother's Day to all the DQ mom's...
Read moreOur family (13 people) gathered inside 7-9-2025. We were eating dinner and getting ice cream. I have to say I have stopped going to fast food establishments because service SUCKS and the orders are ALWAYS wrong. I decided to have us all trickle in as we arrived and order food because I thought it was going to be a shiot show. It was NOT a shiot show to my surprise... 1st order was for 7 of us. We received our food all 7 combos within 5 minutes delivered to our table. I was shocked. The food was Hot fresh and spot on. The second round of us arrived and received the same service and food. One on the burgers was not plain like requested you know what there are worst things in life. Then it was time for ice cream. It was 12 orders and they came out delivered to our table 1 at a time made to order. All 12 assembled one at a time within 5 mins. I hope the next time we gather here we will receive the same service and quality food.
On a side note some of the reviews on here are jacked up. How you gonna waste your time to complain about door dash on a review for dairy queen? About a dollar donation to help feed the hungry? About melted ice-cream when you drove all the way home with 55/2 AC in your car. Not getting a lid on a banana split. You paid twice at the window and didn't get banana in your banana on your banana split and post a picture of the banana on the banana split. Yall are what is...
Read moreNo more DQ..... This is a not a review for the service and not the food. We love Dairy Queen and always have. Our pups love the pup cups. As mentioned, the review is for the service which has gone south the last 6 months... Yes, the drive thru lines are long. It’s post pandemic so we understand and that. Since the state has lifted the mask mandate, many restaurants are reopening their dining, the DQ included. Last weekend 5/22/21 my wife ordered a cake for a pool party my daughter and her friends were having. She gets the DQ ice cream cakes ever year for her birthday. The dine in was to open at 12:00pm as posted on the website and store front door. We were to get the cake on Monday at noon at take to the party. Yesterday we arrived a few minutes early to find a line of cars in the drive thru line. I parked and waited for the store to open so I could pick up the cake. 12:05 rolled around...nothing. My wife called multiple times....no answer. I went to the door again around 12:10ish....locked and nobody would answer so I left. The party ended at 1:00pm. I was forced to run by Publix and grab cupcakes for the kids. Yes, they enjoyed them but they sure wanted the ice cream cake we had ordered online. So our cake is sitting in the freezer there? If it was even made. Has DQ called to pick it up? No.
No more depending on DQ for ice cream cakes....terrible service and we will...
