Doc's Ice Cream and Coffee — Restaurant in Huron Charter Township

You've lost my business. I purchased gift cards for my children for Christmas and today they chose to use them. We made a special family trip, they picked out their ice cream flavors and sizes, got to the register where they were excited to pay for their treats themselves, and was told they could not use their gift cards because of system updates. I asked what are we supposed to do with their ice creams and they said we had to pay with cash or credit card. I explained noone had cash, my kids only had their gift cards which we were again told they could not use. We had to set their ice cream on the counter and leave. They were devastated. And I was at my last straw. I've, time and again, supported this place because I believe in small town family owned businesses but after several times of bad business(first was bad coffee, one time was melty ice cream, another time was soft ice cream and overcharging my children, now being sold $20 worth of unusable gift cards) I will gladly take my business elsewhere...

I like this coffee shop because it’s convenient (it’s 5 minutes away from where I currently live) but I ask for very simple things and the teenagers will look at me like I’m the stupidest person in the world. the last time I came in I asked for an iced americano with a splash of oat milk, and the kid says “so you want a latte.” no, I told you what I wanted lol. I got charged $7 for a americano and I’ve never paid over $4.50 for one, so that was insane. It’s just espresso and water. they also have decaf and regular espresso, but cannot pull a half caffeinated shot, which is interesting. idk. I like this place but every single time I go in there, they act like I’m a problem. I was a barista in local shops for years. Half the time I want to go behind the counter and teach them myself. 💀 the coffee is good. the teens just need...

Absolutely delicious and fun. I had the coffee ice-cream, and I'll be back for more. When they handed me the waffle cone, it was still warm!! It's a beautifully decorated store. I look forward to enjoying the outdoor space next time. It was raining on this trip. My girlfriend ordered a flight of ice-cream and was able to enjoy sampling generous portions of 4 flavors. We were able to pick our favorites, but each flavor was delicious. We are coming from Southgate, so it's close to a 30 minute drive for us, but we're happy to make it. If we're in the area, we will definitely stop in.
