I had placed an order for pick up and when I went to pick up my order wasn't on the shelf where it usually would be. One of the staff members was confused, asked another coworker for input and long story short they believed that a DoorDasher had grabbed multiple bags that were on the shelf instead of just the order he or she was supposed to pick up. The young male staff member that was helping me apologized multiple times, offered me a fountain drink while I waited for them to remake my whole order and was just wicked genuine and apologetic, it was very much appreciated. I told him I would wait in my car, after 15-20 minutes I went back instead to check and it wasn't ready yet. Totally okay, they were busy and had multiple people in line ordering at the same time. I reassured them I was more than okay waiting and that I understood, the situation was not their fault whatsoever. While waiting, the owner Cameron (apologies if misspelled) of the location happened to be there and at some point was notified of my situation and he came over and introduced himself and we talked about the situation, he himself apologized and was very kind and respectful. He went in the back with his staff and appeared to figure out what was going on with the several orders that were being made. There was another large group that placed orders and sandwiches that were very similar got mixed up and there was just a lot of confusion, which I feel I would be confused myself just looking at the situation. Some of the group got frustrated, the staff was trying their hardest to figure it out, all while being the most respectful and apologetic they could have been. Cameron stepped in to help with the confusion and seemed very supportive of his staff. Not to mention, he helped wipe tables and clean up himself instead of leaving it for his staff to tend to. This location is newer and everyone is still finding their rhythm, but the respectfulness and just effort put out by the staff was so great to see. Cameron and his staff have a good thing here and it shows in just the effort produced....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Jersey Mikeās and get the same sandwich every time. So when I was traveling through I was excited to see a JM in town and drove to the outskirts of town to get my favorite. I looked right at the order taker girl and asked for an Original Italian Mikeās way. My son ordered his sandwich no problem. He got his sandwich right away but mine did not come out. After a couple of minutes of other customers passing me by I inquired about my sandwich and the young man looked confused. I had paid for two sandwiches and was standing there so one would think they should be preparing my sandwich⦠the young man said it was still being grilled. Ummm, no. Italian sandwiches are not grilled. There was some confusion and they told me my order was for a number 17 - A Philly sandwich. What they should have done is called a manager over and immediately made my correct sandwich. Instead I waited while more customers sandwiches were made. Finally mine was ready for toppings and I said I wanted mayo, no onions, no salt, dill pickles and honey mustard. Itās like the kid didnāt even hear me. I got no honey mustard or dill, and he used wayyyy too much ājuiceā so the sandwich was soggy. There were onions on my sandwich and I canāt stand onions. I asked who was in charge and he said āthat lady over there.ā Apparently he didnāt know her name and didnāt think to call her over. I remained calm but was not happy the sandwich I was so excited to buy was all messed up. The cashier was apologetic which was nice. I got back to my hotel and my soggy mess of a sandwich was not what I wanted. I think the owner guy was there and he should keep a better eye on whatās happening. Hopefully they will get more experience and get better at taking orders and making sandwiches⦠you know, like they do at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJersey Mikeās recently opened in our Hurricane neighborhood, and Iāve been excited to check it out, especially since Iāve heard so much about their famous subs. The space is bright and welcoming, with that signature Jersey Mikeās vibe: casual, fast, and friendly. The staff was a bit green but kept a positive attitude.
Unfortunately, the growing pains of a new location were pretty evident. My order took about 30 minutes to arrive (which felt like a long time as there were just 2 or 3 sandwiches before mine), and there was some confusion about what went on the sandwiches I ordered. The staff, though kind, definitely seemed like they were still getting the hang of things. Additional training and a smoother system could help here with some secondary help at the grill. The young lady who assisted me took the orders and was also cooking the food on the grill which could account for the long wait time.
When my sandwich finally arrived, the taste was there, but it was a bit of a letdown in terms of texture. The bread was falling apart soggy mush by the time I got to it, as they were far too generous with the vinegar and oil. That said, the flavor was great, and the ingredients ā fresh turkey, crisp veggies, and that signature Jersey Mikeās provolone ā had a lot of potential.
While it wasnāt the best experience, Iām optimistic. Iām sure the staff will find their rhythm with time, and once they get the sandwich prep down and streamline the service, it could be a go-to lunch spot. Iāll definitely be back to give it another shot in a couple of weeks and see how things...
