A Great New Addition to the Neighborhood – Colibri Coffee
I have visited Colibri Coffee a good amount of times and it has quickly become one of my favorite places especially after a morning run. It’s the perfect place to cool down, refuel, and relax.
My favorite drink is the Cajeta latte—smooth, rich, and perfectly sweet. They also offer delicious refreshers and introduce new drinks and food every month, so there’s always something new to try.
For food, I enjoyed the spicy ham sandwich—warm, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick. I also tried their orange marmalade muffin with a nut mix which was moist, citrusy, and had a delightful crunch from the nuts mixed in.
The staff are welcoming and clearly care about the community, making every visit a pleasant experience. They always make great recommendations when I want to try something new.
If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s great to have a local spot like this nearby—close enough to walk to and supporting local businesses is always a win for the...
Read moreIt’s awesome to finally have a cafe in the east side but unfortunately the quality of the food/drinks and the service are pretty inconsistent. The first time I went I had an incredibly delicious mango latte, after that my experiences with the food and drinks ranged mainly from okay to sometimes disappointing (specifically the cosmo wanda & the duvalin latte). My most recent visit especially was a bummer. The staff, although sweet, got my name completely wrong and forgot to make my wrap. My cajeta latte tasted like mocha and nothing like cajeta. The matcha, which in the past had been meh, was pretty awful. Despite that I think what Colibri is doing is really cool, I especially appreciate all the community events they have been hosting and how low cost everything is but considering how much of a toss up the quality is I can’t really see myself going here often. I’d really only go if I have no other option. There’s so much potential here and I really hope they’re able to improve with better quality control and maybe more...
Read moreI have to say, I was genuinely excited when this place opened in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, after just a few visits, I can confidently say I won’t be returning.
The staff here could benefit from a serious course in customer service and client care. The sense of entitlement they display reflects poorly—not just on them, but on small business owners in general.
What makes a business thrive isn’t just the quality of its goods or services; it’s the way customers are treated. That’s why places like Zaragoza, Rubi’s, Steve’s, and Joe’s Coffee—just to name a few—are loved and embraced by the community.
Colibrí, on the other hand, seems to have skipped Customer Service 101. The staff come across as rude, entitled, and dismissive.
You might be the first official café in this neighborhood, but you won’t be the last. And with such poor customer service, people will gladly move on to the next option—or, like me, choose not to...
