First visit and disappointed, however, I think the place may have potential.
Service: The personnel was being trained while I was there and I may have been the first dine in customer of the day.
That said, that is still no excuse for not checking nor inquiring on your patron. This should've definitely been a training opportunity for your new employee.
Additionally, to my surprise, my "dine in" order arrived to the table in take out containers.
Re: the food The shrimp and grits were extremely cheesy and despite the shrimp being prepared and seasoned to perfection, cheese is just an additive among many others that make up the entree
The French Toast was rather tasty and this was without powder sugar nor syrup.
Portion size: small for purchase price
Recommendations needed for establishment: remember all guest aren't created equal therefore provide sugar-free condiment options for patrons
In Conclusion: upon finally obtaining the attention of someone (the man in establishment paraphernalia that happened to come through the door because no one else could hear me over the LOUD music nor my hand waving) and requesting someone attend my table. I explained the grits were too cheesy and I couldn't eat then and I only ate my shrimp and wanted the check.
Generally at this point, the message of disappointment is conveyed and a manager comes over and I get an opportunity to share my concerns and tell them no thank you on the discount but share recommendations and pay my tab. However, I was not afforded this opportunity while in the establishment. As a true proponent for black owned businesses, I took the time to write this review in the most non bias...
Read moreI tried to give this restaurant a chance but it was a big disappointment.. First off when we got there we were immediately given our menus, but had to wait a good while for the waitress to come back & take our order.. Then while waiting for our food for 45 mins @ the least, we had to sit there & listen to loud inappropriate music that was being played like we were in a club instead of a restaurant.. I would have been ashamed to have my mother there with me.. The food was okay but all I ordered was a beef melt & fries (some fries weren't as well done as I would have liked) turkey sausage, over easy eggs, 1 slice of French toast, and two kool-aids.. (So why did it take 45 mins? I'm still not sure.. The total bill came out to $26.00 & no we did not feel that a tip was earned especially since I left with a headache from the loud music, or it could have been the long wait for basic dishes.. Sorry but I doubt that I will be going back...

I always give real reviews I am an advocate for black own restaurants (foodie 4 sure). I just ordered a salmon croquette breakfast today. The croquettes were mushy (over worked), nd bland, the rice under cooked nd dry (no butter like in the pictures, breakfast potatoes vegetables was still raw nd the french toast was soggy nd only browned on one side. This meal was not worth $18. Me giving your establishment another chance did do 1 thing. Assured me I won't be coming back. 5 Loaves croquettes are small, Roys Soul Food croquettes are better as well with both of them being much cheaper w/better taste. I wanted 2 like you alot cause the very first time, I raved to all my other foodies. If you notice there are lines at Roys...
