Sammy's Touch — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I went to Sammy’s today to get a quick breakfast … I asked the cashier (Danielle) for the specials menu and she told me the full menu was on the counter (clearly I wanted to see the specials) I blew that off and continued with my order. I order a Big Breakfast with Turkey Sausage and eggs scrambled soft …. When my order was ready I picked it up at the service window and sat down to eat … MY EGGS WERE SO OVER COOKED literally rubbery. I decided to eat the rest of my food while it was hot and take the eggs back after I finished eating, smh.

I proceed to the cashier to let her know about the eggs and return them, I asked if they could replace them with eggs over easy (I just didn’t want to deal with the possibility of the eggs being overcooked again) in response Danielle says and I quote “First of all over easy and scrambled eggs are two different things" …. I was insulted by her comment because what makes you think I don’t know the difference between egg cooking styles. Needless to say the worst part was her tone of voice … so I responded "I am aware of that, but I’d rather not deal with the scrambled eggs because the were extremely over cooked” she waves her hand walks away and tells one of the cooks "Talk to her". Extremely inappropriate, rude and unprofessional… she was on her phone the entire time she is at the window while taking orders (Facebook and Texting). The food was decent minus the eggs but the customer service was horrible. Danielle needs to be replaced she should not be the first encounter customers have in any...

I really like the food here at Sammy's Touch, and have eaten here numerous times in the past...

But this time was a bad experience. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and fries (which were delicious). My complaint is with the sandwich: I specifically ordered it WITHOUT mayonnaise (due to food allergies). The receipt stated no mayonnaise, but my sandwich was covered in it.

I went back inside and requested a new sandwich be made, and the woman behind the counter said no problem. The original order took close to 15 minutes, but when I got my new sandwich and only 5 minutes, I knew something was up. I had torn the corner off of the piece of chicken so I could tell if if it had just been washed off and regrilled, and sure enough, the corner was missing. This resulted in a dry sandwich that was not edible.

I did not have time to go back in and have it remade for a third time, but I hope this review will be read, and the person behind the grill will reconsider doing this in the future.

I realize miatakes happen, but cutting corners and not doing things the right way just compounds the issue, and leaves a bad taste in the customers...

If I could I would give them a -0 due to my french toast looking like 3 soggy pancakes and the pancake was just as soggy. The toast was so hard you could sharpen a knife if it's dull. The eggs, how can someone cook eggs wrong in a restaurant. Absolutely garbage! if someone in need of soggy french toast, over cooked 3 days old hard texture feeling toast, no flavor T bone steak not fully cooked, then this is your place to visit. I need to see real French toast (non soggy flat pancake) eggs scramble with flavor, and soft toast not a brick, people can lose a tooth and for those wearing dentures 🙌🏻. This is my opinion. I never had such a horrible breakfast. My meal was a few change from twenty dollars. I tried to turn around after seeing the food, but my partner said: " Just give it a try".
