The Bluestreak Snack Shop has been part of the key landmarks of the small town of Ida, MI for decades. My dad and mom went there during school, I went there after school and still go, and I hope my kids and generations to come can continue to experience the Bluestreak Snackshop. Although different families have run it, they each have kept the same awesome and family-oriented atmosphere and name. The current owner has been kind and has brought the Snack Shop back to life. The food and ice cream is always phenomenal. As a working family, we love to now be able to place online orders and pick up dinner or a snack on the way home from work or working in the field after a long day. This was our first time at Blue Streak. Servers were very friendly; food was served very quickly and delicious. We were very surprised to see that there was a car show in the adjoining lot which of course got my husband's attention. Our main reason for choosing this restaurant was because we heard the ice cream was amazing, but unfortunately, they were out of vanilla and chocolate hand dipped so no malts, the soft serve ice cream machine was not working and the only size cones where medium and large, so no desert was to be had. We visited the evening of 7-13-2025 and found a lack of variety with the ice cream flavors. The chicken sandwich was fair. What stood out most was that the young blonde female worker was scooping ice cream without her hair pulled back or a hair cover. Her hair was hanging into the freezer while she was scooping.
